Like you, there was once a time when mypersonality type was just a confusing series of letters for me.Then, after reading a few basic descriptions of my type, I began toread autobiographies from successful and inspiring people who sharemy same type. As I read, I began to feel better and betterabout my personality, my future, and myself. Concerns about myquirks and idiosyncrasies melted away. I realized I did not haveto be good at everything; I had a distinct set of strengths. Ibegan to feel inspired and certain in my potential, despitemy weaknesses, and take pride on my gifts and abilities.

Myconfidence soared. I started to say to myself: If they have the same personality type as I, andhas been so successful, there is no reason I cannot too! Moments of insight started to come along too.I remembered dormant passions and strengths from my childhood. Ifelt inspired by my new role models and a new vision for myfuture. Studying those with my personality type wasone of the smartest investments, of both time and money, I evermade. I have written this book in hope of sharing this sameexperience with you.

Im also going to assume youve read some ofthe basic descriptions online about INFJs and have bought this bookbecause you want depth and details on how INFJs can thrive. So with that, I wont bore you with a drawnout description of INFJs here. Ill keep it short, and let you geton to the other chapters where we go deeper into specific areaslike career and relationships. At first look, INFJs can be mistaken forextroverts and often have multiple personalities they share withthe world. However, INFJs are reserved and very privateindividuals. They prefer to operate in the background versus thespotlight, and see little need to show off or stand out.

Despite their independent natures, INFJs havea deep caring for others and value one-on-one relationships. Withintheir relationships, INFJs are driven to resolve differences, clearup problems, and generally behave cooperatively. INFJs value personal growth and are consciousof themselves and their path to a better self. They look at ideas,events and relationships with a focus on growth and the learningexperiences hidden within. The mind of an INFJ is a rich and vividworld. Spending much of their time in this inner world, INFJs canbe complex, mysterious and puzzling to those around themand ofteneven to themselves.

They have a structured view of the world, butit is arranged in such a way only they are capable of fullyunderstanding it. This leads INFJs to be very abstract in how theycommunicate, mixing facts with hidden meanings andpossibilities. INFJs tend to be kind to others and aregenerally well liked. Other types will often consider an INFJ to bea close friend, however the INFJ is often hesitant to open up andfully express their feelings to all but their closestcompanions. One reason INFJs are slow to open up andbuild close friendships is their sensitivity. They can be easilyhurt by the words or actions of others, especially those theytrust.

When hurt, INFJs may not express themselves or their hurt,instead withdrawing from the situation or relationship that hascaused them pain. This can leave others confused, and wonderingwhat happened. With a natural affinity for art, INFJs tendto be creative and easily inspired, yet they may also do well inthe sciences, aided by their intuition.
