- Fiona Adams is a childrens social worker, currently working as advanced practitioner in the Leeds Childrens Health and Disabilities Teams. She is a practice educator and practice champion, and has supported a number of students. In her spare time she enjoys baking.
- Siobhan Appleyard is a BA3 student at Leeds Beckett University. She is currently working on a child protection team for her final placement. Siobhan would like to continue to work with children and families as a Child Protection Social Worker. When she has gained experience as a social worker she aspires to work with adults as an approved mental health professional (AMHP).
- Gail Barlow works independently as a practice educator (PE) and PE mentor. Having previously been employed as a mental health social worker she has worked as an off-site practice educator with students in voluntary as well as statutory settings. She now helps to deliver practice educator training. She lives with her partner and their two children.
- Deklon Brown is a BA3 student at Leeds Beckett University, currently on his final placement within child protection for Leeds City Council. He plans to work within child protection while continuing his studies to complete a masters in psychological wellbeing. Eventually, he plans to specialise within Children and Adolescence Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
- Loveworthy Chiguvo is a senior social worker within the adult social work team, with a background in the older people and learning disabilities work. She has specialism in practice education and is a practice champion, and has supported student social workers and practice educators through their progressions. Loveworthy is a best interest assessor (BIA). Away from work, she enjoys walking and spending time in the park.
- Adele Clark is a final-year MA student at Leeds Beckett University, currently on placement in a very busy child protection locality team at Wakefield Council. She hopes to undertake an ASYE in a child protection team and during this time to discover areas of specialism that she may like to progress in. Adeles early thoughts of future career progression, based on her learning and experiences so far, include undertaking accredited training for working with parents with learning disabilities and progressing her qualification and knowledge to undertake AMPH training.
- Hannah Cunningham is a BA3 student studying at Leeds Beckett University, currently on her final placement with childrens social work services. She aspires to be a child protection social worker to build her knowledge and experience within this sector, and in the distant future hopes to become a team manager.
- Megan Derrick is a BA3 student at Leeds Beckett University. At the time of writing, Megan is in her final statutory placement working within a children and families team. Post qualifying Megan looks to remain in a child protection position in order to complete her assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) year.
- Biraj Gurung, who was born in Nepal, is a newly qualified social worker, now working in his last placement, a busy mental health team in Leeds Adults Services.
- Mary Harrison teaches on the social work programme at Leeds Beckett University. She is a placement tutor and freelance practice educator, working with students at all levels. She has experience and a particular interest in mental health social work.
- Nicky Linacre is an independent reviewing officer with over twenty years social work experience, predominantly in the field of children and families. As an off-site practice educator she has worked with numerous universities in supporting many students in different placements, both voluntary and statutory. In her spare time Nicky enjoys reading cosy murder mysteries.
- Hugo Macdonald-Hull is a BA3 student, currently on placement in a child protection team. Hugo is hoping to stay in child protection and develop his career in this field.
- Stacey Mallinder is a BA3 student currently on her final placement in adult services. She aspires to work within the mental health sector before progressing to do the AMHP and BIA training.
