My name is Heather Havenwood and I am a Sexy Boss.

I wasnt always a Sexy Boss, however...

After being spit out by the corporate world and growing tired of sales jobs that paid well but left me empty, I launched my own real estate business at the tender age of 25.

I was kicking butt and taking names. It quickly became a 7-figure company that I operated out of my home with two other partners, whom I trusted completely to manage the money and financial side of the business.

Things were going great -- amazing actually -- until one day I was hit with the biggest shock of my life. I had been away at a weekend seminar, and arrived back at my home, only to see that one of my partners and all his stuff was suddenly gone. Worse yet, ALL of my bank accounts were emptied...I was literally wiped out.

I was not only devastated, I was in big time financial trouble. My whole life, including my mortgage, and everything else, revolved around this business.

I had nothing.

It wasnt long before I was forced to declare bankruptcy and give up my home. Flat broke and bankrupt, both my personal and business credit were shattered.

Then Came The Epiphany...

At that moment, I made a clear decision to NOT re-enter the workforce my tail between my legs, but instead, to create my life on my own terms.

No more fucking around, no more excuses. I thought, Im GOING to be the boss of my life...I WILL succeed, and for the first time in my life, I totally meant it.

It was during that time that the principles behind Sexy Boss began to emerge and be revealed to me. I used them in my own life, transforming not only my career, but also my income, my relationships... even the way I felt about myself.

I emerged as a Sexy Boss -- a woman powerfully in command of every part of her life. I launched my own businesses, found love, competed in fitness competitions, and much much more. I was on fire and others took notice. Soon, I was invited to speak and share everything I had learned, and exactly how the process I discovered could help women.

Time to Wake the F$#@! Up

If youre like most people, youre bought into a narrative, a set of limiting stories and excuses that largely defines what you believe you can and cant do.

And its total BS.

Its not you. Not the REAL YOU, at least.

This chapter is all about helping you wake up to the truth about who you are (a Sexy Boss!), whats holding you back, and how to break free once and for all.

Its Easy to Feel Like a Victim

Weve all had bad things happen to us. Some worse than others. As youll see later in the book, I personally had some pretty unfortunate things done to me especially on a financial level.

Im not here to judge or evaluate whats happened to you.

That is the past.

The only thing I care about is helping you move forward.

Because the society we live in makes it very convenient to feel and present ourselves as a victim.

And no, Im not talking about poverty or welfare I dont want to get into a political debate.

Im about how common it is to feel like a victim on an everyday personal level.

Feel Sorry for Me, Please

Have you ever been late somewhere?

You probably felt bad about it. And then, and the same time, you maybe offered an excuses to the person you were late in meeting.

The traffic was terrible.

I was waiting for my ride.

The alarm didnt go off.

I had to pick my friend up and he wasnt ready.

These are just a few of the huge number of excuses that are possible and frequent when someone is late. They sound different, but they all have one thing in common: The denial of your power.

Each time you present an excuse like this, you are denying your power.

Its subtle, and Im not saying that it destroys us.

But with each excuse, we are essentially saying this outside circumstance or person is more powerful than I am.

Its easy to blame being late on something outside of yourself. Then youre not responsible and dont have to feel as bad to the person youre communicating with. This happens all the time.

However, what we dont realize is that this little denials of our power add up.

Over time, they create a pattern of making outside circumstances and other people more powerful than we are. By inviting others to feel sorry or take pity on us in moments of need rather than owning our results in life, we slowly strangle our personal power.
