Hugo Africa is an Author, Activist and a Motivational Speaker.

To The Reader:

As I write this book, I say we, not to generalize on those who have tapped into their potentials and done the best but for those who still have not learnt to rise above themselves and change their ways of thinking, those who do not believe in themselves and those who do not believe that they can ever achieve anything and live a better life.

This is a power packed book, an empowerment, practical and positive philosophy, a liberation chant. Very deep in the way it is written though presented in the simplest form of English. Ensure that you are not a prejudiced or narrow-minded person to read this book.

This book is written to invoke what the author calls mental curiosity (to make the reader think). This book will do well for intellectuals, mostly the free thinkers in their midst (those who think out of the box).

As you read this book, take note that the author is at war with a concept he calls mental slavery, hence pay special attention to where the battle is going on.

The author wrote this book as an activist, a free thinker and a motivational speaker.

BRIEF INSPIRATIONAL MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE

In the arena of life, the honors and rewards fall to those who show their relentless pursuit to constructive and positive actions and the guilt of sin is never removed until the reward of sin is restored. Beware; he who will not increase you will surely decrease you. Men are not prisoners of fate but are only prisoners of their own minds. A vision without an action is a day dream and an action without a vision is a nightmare. People who dream the most do the most. The ineffaceable marks on the pyramid of history are not made by wishful thinkers, lazy and idle men. The pyramid was built by men, not by the gods. The rocket was built by men, not by the gods. Success is never given, it is achieved. Freedom is never given, it is won. Our concern is not what happens to us when we die but the good we do for the society and mankind when we are alive for the good we do for us dies with us but the good we do for the society and mankind lives forever for this earth is a shrine, no one departs here with anything not even a single hair on his body. If you worry you will die, if you do not worry, you will also die so why worry.

Message from the Author.

History has always shown that a few dedicated people are enough to effect changes and affect the course of a generation. We see examples as far as the biblical times such as Jesus Christ, Joshua, Nehemiah, Paul, David, etc. We also see examples in our generation such as Great Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Jerry Rawlins, Bob Marley, Haile Sellasie, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X etc. just to name a few. Most African countries today are suffering and lacking in the midst of abundance. Our problem is certainly not lack of resources but rather poor management of the available resources, which arises from corruption, tribal and religious sentiments among other things including mental slavery. Actually, there is hope for the African continent.

I am of the opinion and do strongly believe that Africa can arise from its current predicament, if only we can lay a solid foundation for development in African nations. I believe that we have all it takes to turn the ship called Africa around. But that is only achievable if we begin to genuinely invest in our youth, because they are the hope of any nation. Today, we like to run to countries that are doing well but these countries started from somewhere. Americas forefathers (George Washington, Abraham Lincoln) built their nations trusting in God, but beyond that they gave their all and united selfless services to the growth of America. Another good example is Japan, whose fore-fathers might not have trusted in God but they believed in themselves and sincerely worked hard for the success of their nation and today is counted as one of the wealthiest nations. With a determined mind, a persevering spirit, a united front, a culture of selfless service and with trust in the Universal God, we would lift this continent to where it truly belongs. It is quite funny to hear people speak of the better days, when everything (education, health care services etc.) worked. This dates back to the 60s and 70s. The early years of our nationhood, our time of plentiful should not be in our past but our today after all, even the Bible says the glory of the later, shall be greater than the former why should ours as a continent be different? How can we then move our continent forward?

The future of any nation is in its youth and it is time the youth rise up to the challenges of their time. They must take responsibilities now! Africa is our continent and we can only move forward in truth and unity. We must shun the tribal, xenophobic, religious and political sentiments we see around us! We are the hope and the future of the continent. It is true that our continent glorifies wealth, rather than patriotism, achievements and commitments and hence it is seen as an unforgivable sin to retire from public service without looting millions. Our continent truly lacks role models for our youth. Please do not get me wrong, they actually do exist but because they do not have millions of dollars in Swiss bank accounts, no one acknowledges them. Yet we must live beyond these constraints. We must find ways to make the system work for us and we must start doing those things now, instead of waiting till we get older. All of us cannot be the presidents of our countries someday, but we all can contribute from wherever we find ourselves by simply being faithful in the little things we are given to do. Our individual little contributions would one day result in a great change. We must be ready to do the right things and we must be ready to stamp out the menace of corruption in our continent. However, it is a task we must begin now. Theres a saying that goes, the morning shows the day. We cant live our lives the way we like and hope to be upright as leaders when the time comes. We have all it takes, to move this continent forward. It is high time that we become patriotic and do our best to contribute to the growth of our continent. What we really need is for us all to re-orientate ourselves and change to a patriotic We can do it attitude. My fellow youths, what is your dream for Africa in the next 40-50 years to come? Have you started actualizing these dreams or do you think you are too young or doesnt it concern you? Dont forget history would place our generation somewhere. What would the unborn generations coming after us think of us all? Yes we can have good roads, constant power supply, good infrastructures, portable water, sound education, all we need to do is for each and every one of us to stand up and be counted in the new generation of patriotic youths of Africa.

I am an African and that can never change, no matter how I try to be like others who do not want to be like me. Since it has been proven with facts that Europeans copied and improved civilization from ancient Egypt during the beginning of modern civilization, nothing stops me from copying creativity from them.
