The END has Begun

Currently there is a lot of talk about theApocalypse and Armageddon. Many expect a biological infestation toovertake humanity, and others nuclear war, while some anticipateoverpopulation. There are many natural occurrences that could causethe annihilation of humanity. There are many super volcanoes aroundthe world, particularly the one long overdue at YellowstoneNational Park. A prolonged volcanic winter would certainly removeat least 90 percent of humanity. A global winter would also ensueif another large comet hit the planet like the one thatexterminated the dinosaurs. Humanity might not survive such acataclysmic event.

Not too much is actually known about theuniverse (the space-time continuum). Scientists theorize that thereis something unknown, some dark power that is forcing the universeto expand at an ever-increasing rate. They also postulate about theabsence of matter. They think there should be more matter in theuniverse, but since they can't find the hidden matter they call itdark matter. These dark elements sound like the ingredients for areligion; where many people believe there is something out there, but they just can't prove it. One unknown (dark energy) is acceptedas science and the other unknown (God) is eschewed as folklore. Theonly way to prove dark matter at this moment would be if thescientists could touch it or if it spoke to them. But what if thereis something more to dark matter and dark energy? What if itsuddenly reached its dark critical point and collapsed in an eventthat scientists call the Big Crunch? The universe would implode andwe wouldn't even see it coming.

Of course humanity could cause a globalcatastrophe. In fact Man might be causing one now without evenconsciously trying. No, I'm not talking about a wormhole caused bythe Large Hadron Collider or about weather disruption by the HAARParrays around the world. Humanity is dangerous in itself. And whensome evil leader influences certain segments of the population theybecome a mob or worse, an army of automaton-like slaves causinghavoc. Think of the philosophies or attributes of Man that havebeen destructive: religion, humanism, greed, and centralization ofpower, and mix them with hatred, fear, arrogance, self-interest,envy, and a myriad of other human flaws. Could a combination ofthese multiplied by technology culminate in the end ofhumanity?

There is one source that that warns humanity ofan eminent end to its self-destructive behavior and self-indulgentproclivities. It is the Bible. About 2600 years ago a predictionwas given to the first world ruler concerning centralization ofpower throughout the ages. Today we call centralization an empire. This ruler was given a dream where he saw a 90-foot tall statuemade predominantly of metals. The head was of gold, the upper torsoand arms were silver, the stomach and hips of brass, the two legsof iron, and the feet with toes made of iron intermingled withclay. The ruler was told he was the head of gold. The two arms andupper torso of silver was the Medo-Persian Empire. Alexander theGreat of Macedon was the brass. Rome and Constantinople were thetwo legs of iron representing the split Roman Empire. The lastempire on this statue was also iron representing a resurgence ofRome, but this iron was interlaced with clay.

To help you understand this prophecy you needsome background on Rome. First we will take a peek at the old RomanEmpire then at the new resurgent Empire. Rome started as a republicbut collapsed into dictatorship. This centralization of power inone man was the beginning of the Roman Empire. The first twohundred years of the Empire were prosperous. It was militarilystrong. The Empire flourished with vigorous commerce transported onwell-built roads that were safe from brigands. Rome used technologyto its advantage and its civil engineering was excellent. In a verypractical way it employed the arch, an older technology, in itsbuilding program. The massive coliseum was four tiers of vaultedarches made of a new substance called concrete. Engineers builtgravity-operated water transporting aqueducts to supply Rome andthese structures also utilized the arch. This water was fordrinking, and the sewage system. It also provided to the famedRoman baths for cleanliness. The government had welfare programs. The public had daily news and books. There was a substantial legalsystem.

Unfortunately Rome and its Empire had an overreliance on foreign slave labor to tend its fields and supplyskilled labor. It also brought foreign (barbarian) mercenaries intothe ranks of its Roman army weakening its cohesion. Many barbariantribe migrations pounded the Roman Empire in the west. The army wasneeded but was expensive to maintain. Trade was disrupted when theroads became inadequately protected. Money became scarce. Politicalsquabbles sometimes intruded to complicate management of theEmpire. Rome was also crumbling from within through overspendingand governmental corruption. When the Empire allowed Gothicmigrants to cross the Danube into Roman territory they had finallylet an enemy inside the gate. The Western Empire fell to the Gothhoards (bolstered by Roman army mercenaries) in 476 while theEastern Empire survived.

The Emperor of the Eastern (Byzantine) Empire inConstantinople was head of both church and state (because theEastern Empire had become Christian), and he became the titularhead of all Christians after the fall of Jerusalem and Antioch tothe Muslims. In only 65 years (by the year 700 AD) Islam hadwrested all of the Christian areas of the Middle East and NorthAfrica away from the Byzantine Empire. Nonetheless, the remainderof the Christian Empire thrived (in what is now called Turkey). Ithad one official language Greek (not Latin). It had schools, hospitals and orphanages. Eventually the constant attacks by theMuslims caused the Emperor to ask the West for help. That resultedin the first Crusade (1095 AD). The crusades did not reclaim landfrom the Muslim armies for long, nor did they keep the ByzantineEmpire safe. Constantinople (and the Byzantine Empire) eventuallybecame a vassal state paying tribute to the Muslims. In 1453 theMuslim Turks took Constantinople itself and changed the greatchurch Hagia Sophia into a mosque, which it remains to thisday.

Now that you are acquainted with the old RomanEmpire I want you to know that through its legacy of laws andculture it still has influence in the modern world. And as Imentioned earlier there is a new manifestation of the Roman Empirethat exists today. Prophecy of the statue says the resurgent RomanEmpire is like two feet with ten toes. Since the statue depictsempires of worldwide influence you must realize that the new RomanEmpire will also be worldwide in influence and power, and in someform in actual governance. [For more on the specifics of thefeet with its ten toes you should read The Plan for Life series, specifically book four The Living End byK. P. Walker.] Physically the new Roman Empire will have itsseat in the European Union and in the English speaking offspring(colonies) of England: United States, Canada, Australia, NewZealand and even India to some extent.

So what does the resurgent physical Roman Empirehave in common with these countries? Just look at the countries. They all have the attributes of old Rome. Rome had a navy. England, then the U.S. had good navies. The same is true for armies. TheU.S., like old Rome used to abound in innovative civil engineeringprojects, such as the Panama Canal, and Hoover Dam (using archtechnology). And then there is the achievement of putting men onthe moon. There is no need to go into all the other technology thathas come from the U.S. The U.S. also used to be powerful andinfluential just like old Rome. Unfortunately the U.S. Senate andCongress always fail to curb excessive spending requested by thePresident (especially when the President acts like an Emperor).Like the government of old Rome widespread bureaucratic confusion, incompetence and corruption infests the new Empire. Canada andAustralia are similar to the provinces of the old Empire and theysupply the natural resources the Empire requires. India functionsin a similar manner in that it supplies skilled manpower. Thecommon language for internet communications throughout the world isEnglish. Trade is a large component of new Rome as it was in oldRome (note the proliferation of international trade treaties oftoday). What's more, the new Roman Empire is still divided insomewhat the same manner that the old Empire was; the new Empirehas an eastern half and a western half but each is subdivided intofive blocs (representing the two feet of the statue). The old eastwas Christian while the west was religiously pagan. In the newRoman Empire the European bloc is secular and the U.S. bloc isstill nominally Christian. As in old Rome all the western countrieshave vast welfare programs that provide funds to the supposedindigent. They all have water and sewage systems. And like thefinal stage of the old Roman Empire the countries that comprise thenew Empire are no longer politically or financially stable.
