About the Landscape Architecture Foundation
F ounded in 1966, the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, with the mission to support the preservation, improvement, and enhancement of the environment. LAF advances the knowledge and influence of the landscape architecture profession through research, scholarships, and leadership initiatives.
About the New Landscape Declaration Summit
I n June 2016, LAF held a summit featuring leading landscape architects from around the world. Building from LAFs 1966 Declaration of Concern , which decried the burgeoning environmental crisis and heralded landscape architecture as a profession critical to help solve it, summit participants reflected on the last 50 years and shared aspirations and ideas for the future, which were used to craft a New Landscape Declaration for landscape architecture in the twenty-first century.
