Chapter 1: What is Kama Sutra

You may have heard the term before. You may even know that it refers to sex. However, there is probably a lot you do not know about this wonderful intimate and historical form of sexual and intimate pleasure. A lot of people think that this is entirely about different sexual positions, when in reality it is not. It is something entirely different, and while it does have to do with sex, and even mentions positions for heightened pleasure, it is so much more than that.

Kama sutra is actually a centuries old document that has to do with everything about getting intimate. Intimacy does not just refer to sex, it also refers to being with your partner in non sexual ways. Intimacy is everything that you do with your partner that you would do with no one else. Things such as cuddling, bathing together, foreplay. There are so many things that are involved in truly being intimate, and most of them are overlooked.

If you feel like your relationship has hit a stalemate, and things are not going as good as they used to, that is probably because you are not delving deeper into an intimate relationship. In this day and age, so many people do not take the time to truly enjoy their partner as they should. They think that as long as they have sex once a week, things are going good. However, you have to do more that that. Relationships only really work when you connect on every level. Spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

The Kama Sutra has many different ways of showing you how to reignite the flame in your relationship. You have to be willing to take the time to do it though. Five minutes once a week is not enough time for true intimacy. You have to give it your all, everyday. If you think you are too busy, you are not. In today's world, we have an advantage over ancient India. We have technology. We have the ability to communicate with people while not actually taking any time out of our day. Intimacy starts with communication, and that will be delved deeper into in a later chapter.

This book is updated from the original version, and uses our technology in helping to enhance the Kama Sutra style, however, the ideas are still the same, and the process is very similar to the original. So it is best to get an idea of what went on in the original document.

Origin of the Term Kama Sutra

This is a term that is from the ancient Hindi religion. What? You thought that Hinduism was a chaste nature like Islam? Well, you are in for a big surprise. Think back to the last time you saw a Bollywood film. Or even the Cheeta Girls movie where they went to Bollywood. The people there were very provocatively dressed, were they not? The truth is, that the Hindi people believe that they should embrace their inherently sexual nature. They feel to suppress their urges is a crime, and they should always feel open about giving and receiving pleasure. That could also be why they are known to be very happy people, rather than pent up and angry like most of us are today.

Women in the Hindu religion are especially provocative. They often keep their midriffs exposed, while also giving the illusion of being modest. They keep the essential parts of the body covered up, and use jewelry and angled skirts to attract a male's attention to them. The veils that the Hindi women wear are to accentuate their hair, rather than to hide it. Women are revered as beautiful creatures, rather than objects merely to be used for pleasure. This could be why the Kama sutra mainly reflects on pleasuring a woman, and has only a little information about pleasuring a man.

Men dress provocatively as well. They are often found in loose and flowing pants. Their shirts are never fully buttoned, and they always are seen to be relaxed. The Hindi way of dressing seems to be provocative without showing off too much. This allows excitement to build and allows the mind to wonder what is underneath the parts of the body that are covered up.

Since everything in this culture is centered around a human's natural sexual nature, it only makes sense that the document that they are most known for is literally titled sexual connection. Kama is the goal of the Hindu religion that ties to sexual pleasure. Sutra is a line that connects something.

The Kama Sutra is something that not a lot of people put much stock into, but every couple should. Not only because it spices up your sex life, but because it also can bring you pleasure and intimacy beyond your wildest dreams. If that is not your goal in a relationship, then perhaps you are not truly ready for anything but casual sex. Even if you are only looking for something casual, you can still use this to help you in your endeavors.

Chapter 2: Mind over Matter

You have probably heard this phrase growing up. You can do it! It is simply mind over matter! Well, in life that applies to many things, including sexual relations. You may be wondering how your mind has anything to do with the pleasure in your pants. Well, you should know, that if you head is not in the game, your game will be off. This includes when you are sexually involved. You can achieve a greater sense of pleasure if you are mentally stimulated, along with being physically stimulated.

Back in the time of the original Kama Sutra, sex was not deemed as something that one should be ashamed of. This lead to people being able to truly enjoy themselves. However, once the Roman Catholic Empire spread across the world, sex became more and more taboo. The Roman Emperor believed that sex should only be used to reproduce. No one knows why. Perhaps he was burned by a woman and decided that sex was not to be enjoyed anymore.
