There is one thing I know for sure: Makeup can change your life. Not in the sense that it will put a roof over your head or cure cancer, but it can change how you look at yourself and the world. When you feel your most beautiful, it will give you confidence like nothing else can. And we all know that confidence is what true beauty is all about.

It has always been my goal to teach women to love who they actually are, not who they wish they could be. As many of you know, I have written several bestselling books that have focused on just that. Love who you are today and every day. Find what makes you special and celebrate it. Love your big baby blues; embrace that gorgeous pucker. Play and experiment to find your perfect you.

No matter how many women Ive worked with, how many workshops Ive led, or how many books Ive written, I always find it hard to express what I want for you and what I hope you can achieve. Yes, I have an opinion about how you can achieve your own true beauty and am always willing to share it, but are you ready to receive it?

We all have preconceived notions about what is beautiful and how we look our best. Unfortunately, so often our perception is not where the truth lies. (Think of your girlfriend whos still wearing her hair the way she did in high school.) I always tell women to try new things because thats what keeps you looking your most beautiful.

I thought and thought in the process of writing this book, How do I express what makeup and the right application can do for you? I decided to ask a few women whom Id worked with and see what they thought. I had changed the way they thought about beauty and the way they looked at themselves and shown them how they could change the way the world sees them. I wanted to share with you how learning the tricks and the secrets of the trade have changed it all for them.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

I could list celebrity after celebrity Ive worked with to try to impress you, but that wont help you understand how you can change your own reality. It wont help you find your beauty.
