About the Author

Barbara Ramsay Orr has been writing about world travel, food, wine, and culture for over 20 years and is still awed by the beauty of her home turf. Her work has appeared in most of the major publications in Canada, in international publications, and online. She maintains a trio of blogs that document her encounters with food, with the world, and with the local scene in Niagara and has won awards for both her writing and her travel photography. While she appreciates the pleasures of a good hike or an energetic bike ride, they are still, basically, just good ways to work up an appetite.

Acknowledgments

To Niagara, a place that virtually writes its own story; to Betsy and John who showed me the insiders view; to my patient husband, to Sylvia, my frequent sidekick on food adventures; and to my editor, Gene, who ruled with a light hand.
