What is the Karma Sutra?
E veryone has heard of Karma Sutra, which is the book of love and sex, several times in their lives. According to chapter 12 of Karma Sutra, the context of this book applies,

passion and overwhelmed by impetuous
energy, do not pay attention to the

T he Karma Sutra is an ancient book of Indian origin and aims to offer advice on sexuality, love, and Eros. Inside the book, the best positions for sex are illustrated in a specific order to be able to achieve Karma, the Sanskrit word for ecstasy or pleasure. This ancient Indian text studies human sexual behavior and is believed to be essential in Sanskrit literature that has to do with desire, love, ecstasy, sensuality, and excitement as well as with sexuality in a strict sense. It was created around the second century by Vatsyayana with its true tittle being Vatsyayana Karma Sutra, or Aphorisms on the love of Vatsyayana.

T he most famous part of the Karma Sutra is the one that analyzes pleasure, which can be achieved in 64 different ways that are called arts, according to the author. More specifically, there are eight different ways to have sex, and those eight are separated into eight positions that make a total of 64. Each position is depicted by illustrated images and is normally named after an animal.
The part of Karma Sutra that is dedicated to sexual positions, starts by addressing the matter of kissing and then moves on to topics such as foreplay, oral sex, orgasm, and even threesomes. Sex, in Indian culture, is a form of divine union and has no connection to the belief of it being a sinful act, something that has spread to the western world.
The complete work of the Karma Sutra addresses moral issues, courtship, and relations between women and men. The first book has to do with the relationship between a man and a woman, the second deals with kissing, sex, and foreplay, the third book focuses on courtship, the fourth book on how a wife should act, the fifth with the art of seduction, the sixth focuses on the topic of courtesans, and the seventh book explains how to revive passion that has faded.
