Homeopathic treatment of sports injuries: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Homeopathic treatment of sports injuries" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

A practicing homeopathic physician discusses the homeopathic remedies and first-aid procedures appropriate for treating common athletic problems, from heat-stress to sprains. He shows how homeopathic preparations work quickly to help the body initiate its own healing. Easy to reference, this handbook lists common injuries as well as general medical problems associated with sports--including skin, eye, ear, nose, throat, gastrointestinal, and genito-urinary complaints--and details the symptoms and homeopathic prescriptions for each. Appendices note suppliers of homeopathic remedies, related medical associations, and publishers who offer books on the subject.

This book was produced in EPUB format by the Internet Archive.

The book pages were scanned and converted to EPUB format automatically. This process relies on optical character recognition, and is somewhat susceptible to errors. The book may not offer the correct reading sequence, and there may be weird characters, non-words, and incorrect guesses at structure. Some page numbers and headers or footers may remain from the scanned page. The process which identifies images might have found stray marks on the page which are not actually images from the book. The hidden page numbering which may be available to your ereader corresponds to the numbered pages in the print edition, but is not an exact match; page numbers will increment at the same rate as the corresponding print edition, but we may have started numbering before the print book's visible page numbers. The Internet Archive is working to improve the scanning process and resulting books, but in the meantime, we hope that this book will be useful to you.

The Internet Archive was founded in 1996 to build an Internet library and to promote universal access to all knowledge. The Archive's purposes include offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format. The Internet Archive includes texts, audio, moving images, and software as well as archived web pages, and provides specialized services for information access for the blind and other persons with disabilities.

INDEX

FOREWORD

We need this book.

While sports medicine has grown, with physicians trained in orthopedicsnow subspecializing in this area, practitioners have failed to take advantageof a wide variety of homeopathic remedies that are simple and effectivewhen properly used. There has been an all-too-willing acceptance ofinformation provided by drug companies concerning a small number ofmedications for sports-related physical problemsusually those on whicha particular company holds patents. Rather, Id like to see an explorationof the long-known and valuable healing properties of the varioushomeopathic remedies that Dr. Lyle Morgan now makes available. Withthese significant alternatives for healing sports-related injuries, Dr.Morgan fills a void in the literature and provides a much needed serviceto sports medicine for athletes, coaches, and trainers.

H. Neal Sievers, M.D., F.A.A.F.R

A READERS ADVISORY

It is not the purpose or intent of this book to replace the professionalservices of a physician or sports medicine specialist. The reader should nothesitate to consult a physician, sports medicine specialist, or other licensedhealth care practitioner for any illness or athletic injury that requiresprofessional evaluation and treatment.

Homeotherapeutics have been used by physicians, licensed health careproviders, and lay people for nearly two hundred years. Scientific researchis now proving homeotherapeutics to have remarkable and valuable healingproperties. The United States Food and Drug Administration has recognized the legal status of homeopathic medicines as listed in theHomeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States as approved drugs, aslong as they have not been altered in their formulations or inaccurate claimsmade to their efficacy. Most homeopathic remedies are available as nonprescription, over-the-counter drugs with the exception of some tinctures, potencies, and special combinations that can be used only by licensedphysicians.

The remedy indications and tables in this book have been taken fromauthoritative sources: the homeopathic Materia Medica, and the writingsof physicians, clinicians, researchers, in scientific laboratory reports, medical documents, journals, and other related sources. No attempt shouldbe made on the part of the reader to use any of this information as a formof treatment for illnesses or accidents that require the care of a licensedhealth care provider.
