Lets gets started!
Sunburn
Sunburn is inevitable when you are on an island and the sun is beaming down on you. A tropical disease of the skin that can literally take a person down is a horrible sunburn.
Getting sunburn is inevitable as too much vitamin D can burn a person into the ground, literally. The skin is susceptible to a lot of diseases considering it is the largest organ on the human body.
If you happen to get sunburned on an island and there is no doctor around, make sure to keep your eye around for an aloe vera plant.
Aloe vera is known to calm the skin and cool it off. Make sure to stay out of the sun, find shade and trees to keep cool.
Being on a tropical island is adventurous, but when you are on an island your skin will be exposed to many harsh weather conditions, from night until day.
Protecting your skin and the things you digest is of the utmost importance.
Thankfully plants exist. In this guide we will teach you what plants and herbs to look out for, this way you can use holistic approaches in order to aide life threatening diseases on a tropical island.
The earth provides for us humans with everything we need, we just need to be able to look out for the proper plants that can heal; through education comes survival.
The more you know, the greater chances you will have when it comes to surviving on a tropical island.
Dehydration (Yes, This Counts!)
Note* Did you know that the human body is made up of around 70% water? Well, it is no wonder water means life, literally.
Dehydration is another tropical disease that can occur. When you are in the scorching heat and if you dont drink enough water, than it is very likely that you will become dehydrated.
Dehydration is real and people have been known to die from it. It is best to make sure that you have healthy and clean water to drink, otherwise you can get many tropical diseases if you are drinking unhealthy and bacteria filled water.
When you are on a tropical island you need to make sure that you carry iodine packets to clean your water source, just in case.
Dont think just because you are on an island that you have plenty of water because you are surrounded with bodies of water.
If you dont happen to have iodine packets or a proper filtration system and you need to drink water, your best bet is to find a way to boil the water.
Boiling bacteria filled water will rid the bacteria that can cause many health issues, if it enters your body.
Make sure to keep this guide handy as we will mention many tropical diseases that can occur and our suggestions will be invaluable for your internal and external survival.
Survival of the fittest is usually what keeps people alive, so the more you know, the better off you will be.
Malaria
Malaria has been known to cause a fever and problems with the muscles and joints. A person who catches malaria might feel extremely ill and unable to do the normal activities they are used to.
The worst part about malaria is that this tropical disease can be caused simply by the bite of a mosquito. Mosquitos are not only pesky flying bugs, but they are known to transmit deadly diseases, and they seem to be everywhereworldwide.
Not only can they aid in transmitting malaria, but they have also been known to transit many other diseases, which we will cover in further sections within this survival guide.
Mosquitoes are hard to spot and are sometimes so incognito it is often hard to detect when they are around.
It is smart to stay away from still bodies of water, as still bodies of water usually contain a lot of bugs and mosquitos.
When you are in a tropical environment, before you head out, it is imperative that you equip yourself with tea tree oila natural oil derived from a tree, as mosquitos hate the smell and are completing repelled. Chances are they will steer far, far away from you.
There are other holistic approaches that you can take when it comes to repelling mosquitoes, these tactics include natural oils such as manuka oil another natural oil that is derived from a plant.
Tea tree oil is derived from Australia, while manuka oil is derived from New Zealand. These natural oils come from natural plants that our precious earth provides. If you cant find these oils beforehand, then be sure to cover up.
