Personal Message from Marc Shamus
I WROTE THIS BOOK BECAUSE of a strong voice I have in my head which has been inspiring me my whole life. You see, I had a very strong male role model, my paternal grandfather, Jesse Reynold Shamus, who pushed me with his words from a very young age and encouraged me to strive for personal greatness.
Growing up, I saw the impact that the corporate game had on my father with their endless demands for his time, work ethic and ever increasing performance in order for him to maintain being a successful manager of a large fortune 100 company. The carrot kept being raised higher and further away from him as he worked diligently harder to provide a stable household for our family.
Throughout my life, I have been a keen observer and experiencer of many life situations and obstacles, including multitudes of diverse financial earning experiences. Whatever your life background, I possibly have had circumstances just like you. I have been frustrated that I was working really hard to create income, but for some reason, the money was not coming in the way I envisioned it should.
I was frustrated that other people around me seemed to have it all figured out. I saw plenty of them with big houses, and a seemingle endless supply of liquid cash to spend but had no clue how they accomplished this. For income, I have spend most of my years as an entrepreneur (including Network Marketing) and have picked up a handful of w2 employment jobs (part time, full time and even seasonal) to fill the financial gaps on sparse occasions.
Yes, some of those employment situations paid me minimum wage or below and got me further in debt and even more behind on bills. Even in my 3+ decades of pursuing commissionable sales, I have had my share of challenges where I couldnt close enough prospects in a given pay cycle; therefore money was scarce and it seemed that I barely crept forward to continue for another day, hoping to have a breakthrough day.
Going back in time, in my late teens through age 21, I went through the college system and experienced first hand how things worked there, especially because I was a stellar student and was friends with a few key administrative personnel of the college. I did a few internships as well, which I learned a lot from, yet felt beyond disappointed from the overall experiences I had with them.
When I originally moved to California, I created immediate cash via short term gigs while I was putting in my share of auditions for all the Hollywood cattle calls that drove lots of people but very few bell ringers. I got a few small roles and even met some really fascinating people, although none of that would ever translate financially into any memorable noteworthy returns.
