Sex180. The Next Revolution: summary, description and annotation

Young adults are fed up with our sex-saturated culture. They realize that theres more to sex than what the media feeds them, and they realize that theres more to responsibility that just wait until youre married. Youth want to have Gods perspective. Not only that, they want to show their peers theres a better way to relate to the opposite sex. Its time for a revolution. A 180-degree turn is underway.
Sex 180 is a guide to that revolution. Its more than a book that preaches abstinence before marriage. Sex 180 shows teens whats wrong with the way people talk and think about sex and challenges them to think differently. With solid biblical teaching, interactive sidebars, and real-life stories, teens, parents, and youth leaders will start to think about sex in a whole new way.

You picked up this book because you wanted to know what in the world - photo 2

You picked up this book because...

you wanted to know what in the world sex180 means. Well get to that in a minute.

you thought the cover looked better than the other books about sex (yep, Tim totally judges a book by its cover too).

you liked the word revolution .

your mom/dad/grandma/youth pastor gave this book to you.

Whatever the reason, youve made it this far. You opened the book to this page. Well definitely try to live up to your expectations for the rest of the book. (By the way, were really impressed that youre reading the introduction.)

But before we start, you need to know a few things.

First, who are we? We have a confession. Were both married guyswith kids. Yeah, we know. We may have just lost some cred with you. After all, were married. We have sex. And were dads, so you might be thinking we have some kind of ulterior motive or that your parents asked us to write this book. BTW, they didnt.

The truth is, weve both made some mistakes along the way when it came to sex. This book isnt penance. And were not expecting you to be perfect. But if we had both seen Gods heart behind what he says about sex earlier in our lives, we would have made some different choices. We might have ended up with a few less scars.

Weve seen up close what happens when we think about sex completely on the outsidewhen its all about what we can and cant doand totally miss Gods heart and plan. Weve also seen how the wrong view of sex can mess up a lot of other peoples lives too.

And were not off the hook here. Its just as important for adults to understand what God thinks about sex as it is for students. It doesnt take much looking to see proof of that in our cultureor maybe you see proof in your own family.
