For the late Karl Folkers, the "father of CoQ10," who was one of the greatest chemists of the 20th century. Dr. Folkers, who lived to be more than 90 years old, was a testament to the benefits of Coenzyme Q10. The biomedical and chemical aspects of this miracle nutrient consumed the last 40 years of his life. He never thought of retiring and was actively involved in CoQ10 research right to the end.
In his lifetime, Dr. Folkers won every scientific award short of the Nobel Prize. Unfortunately, he was 20 years ahead of his time and proposed ideas that were not well received by mainstream medicine until recently. Although he was trained by the pharmaceutical industry to develop drugs, Folkers had both the insight and foresight to use biochemical research as the basis for nutritional healing.
