About the Book
This book is like a mystery that will unfold as you read it. More than a collection of pages, you will find that it is one part textbook and one part oracle. You might even wonder if it is biographical or autobiographical in nature, as the coincidental references to your own life will seem almost uncanny. How can that be? Gaia is a living/learning/teaching library of everything that is, was or might be related to the Earth. Because you are Gaian, you are also a part of the great living library that is Gaia; you are a library within Gaia, one whose contents area collection of ever-unfolding experiences. You are a lifetimes-old master storyteller, unraveling each tantalizing chapter. That is why you cannot help but find yourself within these pages.
Your purpose are made of multidimensional similes and metaphors designed to stimulate, encourage, create and resolve. As Gaia tells it, you have at least seven purposes or reasons for being. You instinctively (consciously or unconsciously) know one or more of these, but others may remain hidden for many years or even throughout your entire lives. Given this expanded view of what you are and why you are here, you can begin to see how this book might be of use to you.

Pepper Lewis
Pepper Lewis is a world-renowned author, teacher and channel. She has been the primary voice for Mother Earth (Gaia) for over fifteen years and has carried Gaias unique wisdom and guidance to many corners of the globe. Her channeling is rich, clear and profound. Pepper is the author of dozens of audio programs and several books, including Gaia Speaks: Sacred Earth Wisdom , Gaia Speaks: Wisdom for an Awakening Humanity and Transition Now, Redefining Duality, 2012 and Beyond .
Pepper is passionate about passing her art on to others and has developed an exceptional program for teaching channeling to every skill level, from beginner to professional. Her unique methods are a blend of time-honored traditions with a few new twists on an ancient art. Pepper explains her passion as follows: Channeling continues to be a mutually enriching synthesis of prayer and meditation. In prayer, you offer gratitude and ask, and in meditation you receive answers. In channeling you can do both at the same time. It is the most fulfilling practice I know.
Pepper lives with her husband Glenn in the hills above Ashland, Oregon. She enjoys time spent in nature, gardening, reading and needlecraft, and an occasional motorcycle ride on a country road. Acknowledgments: Notes on Gratitude
We have only to reflect upon a favorite rock, crystal, lake, tree or secret place to reimagine how they inspire us each time we so much as contemplate their place in our life. These same reflections have, in moments such as this, inspired me to allow my awareness to visit those who have effortlessly, as well as at great expense, extended kinship, friendship, love, resources, wisdom and much more.
Given the opportunity to write an acknowledgments page, I could not help but wonder how many different ways there are to express gratitude for the untitled kindnesses, those that are often overlooked because neither need nor expectation accompany the kindness extended. Aside from those who receive our sincere but practiced courtesies, it seems that our gratitude would also be well placed in those moments and individuals that are so common and simple as to make all the difference in the world. In our busy lives and our hurry to get on with our next task, we shrug off the gift of a smile, a hug or a supportive look, vowing to savor it the next time. Therefore, it seems most appropriate to begin with gratitude for those unseen and unmarked moments of life. I am also grateful to all whose paths have crossed my own, in this life and countless others. Without you my experiences might have been more bland, my lessons less varied.
Where lessons are concerned, my father amazes me as much as he confuses me. At eighty-five, he still rejects the choices I have made that extend beyond the reach of his understanding or blessing. As he nears his time of transition, I marvel that the accomplishments of a thirty-third-degree master mason do not evoke a more compassionate consciousness. Ever grateful for the opportunity he provided for me, I pray that Gods compassionate hand will rest on his shoulder one last time and compel him to reach for me in this life rather than the next.
My mother, a strong-willed seventy-four-year-old with a sharp wit, has seen to it that the bond between mother and daughter remains strong. She is more of a friend than I might have imagined in years past, an endearing example of a willingness to surrender anything that promotes distance. She tells me to live fully and joyfully in this life because, In spite of the wonderful things you teach about the future, you wont live a next life until you complete this one. Be happy! she says, as if it were an order.
Those who know me well also know that the smile upon my face was put there by a gentle man who time has returned to me, as if from long ago. When asked if Glenn, my husband-to-be, is my soul mate, I usually reply, No, but as a mate he fills my soul, and I his. More as a dare than a request, I asked Gaia to help me invite someone into my life who would love me as a woman and a friend rather than as a channel and a visionary. Glenn was Gaias clever and humorous response, because when we met, he had never heard of Gaia and wasnt even sure what channeling was. Between and during many months of laughter and listening, we learned about ourselves and each other, and that we loved one another deeply. Over how many lifetimes can love and longing stretch, I sometimes wonder.
