I express my deep gratitude to my loving and devoted husband, Jeff, for his patience, support, and sense of humorinvaluable attributes in helping bring our work to fruition. I thank my beautiful sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren for their love, support, and inspiration. I would also like to acknowledge my wonderful parents, Ann and Raanan Wertheim (may my dad rest in peace), for instilling the values of education and developing a professional career in their children and for all the sacrifices they made along the way. Thank you to my wonderful parents-in-law for their constant interest and support in all of my endeavors. Special shout-outs to the contributors for their brilliant and dedicated work on this project and to my students who teach me more than anyone. Finally, I would like to thank my esteemed and accomplished partner in this work, Dr. Renee Fabus, for her scholarship and expertise in bringing this work to fruition.

I thank all of our contributors for generously devoting their time to writing a chapter in our second edition of this text. This book would not have been possible without their dedication and diligence! I hope this book will prove to be a valuable resource for students, teachers, and novice and experienced clinicians in speech-language pathology. I would also like to acknowledge Lucille Nielsen-Rosander, who always provides excellent advice and guidance in all situations. Her students would agree that she was a first-class clinician, supervisor, and mentor in speech-language pathology. I aspire to have her knowledge and wisdom, combined with her sense of humor and approach to different situations.
