There are also a number of people whom I would like tothank for their most generous help to me in gathering informationfor the preparation of this book. I am particularly indebted to Mrs.Maryland Estes of the Beth El Library in Providence for obtainingsome rare books and manuscripts and for her constant assistancein locating various sources. Thanks are also due to my student,Rabbi Yitzchak Dubovick of Providence for obtaining specialinformation on the Chasidim in Russia during the 19th century.Miss Edith Kermit Roosevelt of Washington, the granddaughter of President Theodore Roosevelt, has given me much information onthe subversive activities of the Cult of the All-Seeing Eye and someinteresting connections between them and the American JewishCongress, for which I am most indebted. Also I am grateful toGordon Hall of Boston for making available some in- -formation inhis files on subversives for my perusal.

For their help and suggestions I am grateful to my father, A.Harry Antelman and my mother, Anna Antelman of Atlantic City, New Jersey; also to Irwin Katz, Regional Coordinator of the NewEngland JSL and Allan E. Mallenbaum, National Chairman of JSL.And most important of all to my wife, Sylvia, who also designedthecover ofthis book andwithout whosepatienceandforbearance, this book would have been an impossibility.

M.S.A.PREFACE

In preparing this volume, I have had to weigh much historical information and have even had to rewrite some information whenI found contradictory material that could be better substantiated.Anyone who can correct any particular information here that hebelieves to be erroneous is asked to please call it to my attention. Our understanding of history increases day by day as newdocumentary material is constantly being unearthed that shedsnew light or even discredits previous historical sources. This isespecially true when one discovers, as I have, that there seems tobe a concerted attempt to bury in the shadows of history manymysterious connections and events.

If, dear reader, you should be distressed or frightened whenreading this volume, you should not be, because the conspiracy todestroy the Jewish religion is completely undermined in your actof reading this book. The conspiracy depends on being able tohide its inner workings. But having read this book, you will be thatmuch more enlightened. This is what the Torah means by theadmonition, Do not conceal (Deuteronomy 13:10). When itcomes to those who seduce people to worship strange gods, thatone should not conceal their actions.

At theendofVolumeII, Godcomprehensive platform on how one can deal with this conspiracy.
While this book primarilyaddresses itself totheJewish experience, I have endeavored to write it for non-Jews as well, sothat they could better appreciate how the Jew is being falselypresentedtothemas aleft-winger, radical Communist, orcapitalistic conspirator, and begin to realize who the real conspirators are and who really represents World Jewry today. Most nonJews, as members of daughter religions of Judaism, through thisbook may be able to appreciate how an attack on Judaism affectstheir lives.
I have quoted liberally from many authorities such as Professor Gershom Scholem, Dr. Arthur Hertzberg, Max Dimont, and others. However, let the reader not think that by doing so, the author willing, Ishallpresent aaccepts many of those that he has quoted as authorities in allmatters, for Gershom Scholem is an agnostic; Professor JacobKatz, who has written Jews in Freemasonry, subscribes to Biblicalcriticism; Max Dimonts writings reveal antagonismtowardsreligious Jews; and Arthur Hertzberg in his role as president of theAmerican Jewish Congress, has been involved in an attempt toundermine the Jewish religious school system in the UnitedStates, and has attacked the Israeli Rabbinate on the issue of Jewish identity.
In selecting the title of this book, Karl Marxs concept thatreligion must be eliminated has been incorporated. The full text of his remarks was written in German and was as follows: Religionis the lament of the oppressed, the soul of a world that has no soul, the hope of a humanity which has lost all hope; it is the opiate of the people. This has been reduced in quotations books toReligion is the opiate of the people. Some translate opiumrather than opiate, but this is a poor translation of the original German.
