The Hubble and Hattie imprint was launched in late 2009, when its first book was published, and is named in memory of two very special Westies owned by Veloces proprietors.
Since then, many more books have been added to the list; all with the same underlying objective: to be of real benefit to the species they cover, whilst also promoting compassion, understanding and respect between all animals (including human ones!).
All Hubble and Hattie books have high quality content, presentation and production, and because of their competitive pricing also offer terrific value for money.

Foreword
by Daniel DQ Quagliozzi
U nraveling the mysteries of the feline message has always fascinated me. I think people misunderstand just how complex feline emotions and body language can be. You literally have to stop yourself from projecting your own feelings on to your cat. Never take it personally! Its not always about YOU!
Many of the consulting clients I have want to just fit a cat into their routine and ignore how the cat is feeling. I work with them to establish a one-on-one bond with their, cat and teach them how they can make a few shifts in their lifescape to accommodate the needs of their feline companion. Everybody wins.
The One Minute Cat Manager gets straight to the point. I love how direct it is and how useful the information is for first-time cat owners (newbies), and seasoned cat owners alike. This book lays it out for you. It describes a cats body language, personality, and some signals that can easily be missed. It doesnt take long just a minute or two to figure out what a cat needs, and what results is a more harmonious relationship between human and feline.
Understanding your cat is the number one task for cat owners. 90% of my consultations focus on the human dilemma, but understanding that making a few adjustments in consideration of the cats nature and habits can immediately result in a happier home. I always like to encourage my clients to live in the Meow, and this book does that. It helps the human being understand the world of the cat, quickly.
In the book there are a lot of excellent safety precautions, instructions for walking a cat on a harness, and tips on keeping your cat healthy and happy. Its a fun read, and I laughed out loud a few times at the stories and antics of the featured cats.
I especially recommend spending time with your cat. Whether its telling your cat all about your day or reading them a bedtime story from chapter fifteen of the book, its all about the sound of your voice to your cats ears, and the soothing nature of your presence.
There are a lot of things you cant control about a cat, but there are many things you can. The One Minute Cat Manager helps us understand that the cat isnt wrong or bad, hes just living according to his own nature, and if we can slow down a tad we can learn more about his world; in a minute.
One of the greatest gifts a person can have is a loving bond and relationship with a cat. If I can help people understand more about the internal workings of their cat, there will be a higher cat adoption retention percentage and better symbiosis between cat and owner.
A high number of cats are recycled each year, and if more people would read this book they would become better educated about cats, and thereby increase the success rate of cat adoptions worldwide. Ive seen the inside of cat shelters firsthand, and I know that knowledge is power.
Written in a clear and authentic voice with the heart of a cat lover and an experienced cat parent, everyone thinking about adopting a cat should read this book, and anyone who has a cat should read it, too.
I will absolutely recommend this book to my clients as I coach them into being a caring and responsible feline parent, so they can have years of joy and love with their equally happy cat.
