About the Authors
Liu Bai-yan was born in 1970 and is currently the president of Yiyang Medical Junior College. He is a professor, a doctoral supervisor and specializes his clinical practice in the prevention and treatment of the digestive and cardiovascular diseases as well as insomnia. He completed his doctoral program from the Central South University in 2002 and then undertook post-doctoral work in the Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 2002 to 2004. He was a visiting scholar in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006 and has served as presidency and secretary of CPC General Branch of the Postgraduate Education Department. He has also been the Director of Tertiary Research Lab of Vascular Biology of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Director of Chinese Internal Medical Lab of the Key Lab of Hunan Colleges and Universities. He has acted as the vice chairman of Neurology Specialized Committee of Hunan Institute of the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, as well as vice chairman of Hunan Health Management Specialized Committee. He has undertaken 13 scientific research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, State Branch Program, Ministry of Education, and provincial and bureau sources. He has been awarded with the 1st Prize of the Science and Technology of Hunan Province and 7 other provincial awards. Up to date, he has published over 40 medical papers including 4 in SCI cited journals.
Suzanne Robidoux
Suzanne Robidoux is a Canadian licensed practitioner as well as an international speaker, author and researcher. Dr. Robidoux has spent over 14 years living and practicing Chinese medicine in China after completing her Masters at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine, US. She is presently a fellow laureate at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine conducting a post-doctoral clinical research on the application of the classical understanding of Zhang Zhong-jings medical system of Six Syndromes and Classical formulas recorded in the Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue. She completed her doctorate in 2007 at the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine researching the efficacy in the treatment of various neurological and psychosomatic diseases and disorders with acupuncture and moxibustion. She spent over 6 years working for the Peoples Medical Publishing House, managing, editing and writing over 20 professional Chinese medicine books on acupuncture, moxibustion, medicinal formulas, health cultivation and martial arts. She has been published in English, French, German and Portuguese. Dr. Robidoux now teaches in conference and academic institutions all over Europe, Asia and North America advanced acupuncture, moxibustion and classical medicine techniques. She has founded ChineseMedicineTraveller.com which is an English platform to join practitioners from around the world to learn rare and effective clinical skills from masters in China in hopes to defy the challenges of cultural differences, language barriers, distance and time limitations in the goals of bringing people with similar goals and passion together.
