Foreword
Great athletes tend to have great coaches. The best athletes and coaches make training about fine-tuning the details of their certain craft. I can honestly say working with Loren had a positive impact on the entire direction of my career. He specified the minor details that turned into major strengths for me.
Training is truly an art, and when done correctly, you should see actual data of growth and, more importantly, understand why. Loren helped me understand how to train, when to do what. He helped me see the bigger picture.
Ive always been an extremely hard worker. I still am, but working with Loren made me realize that working smarter is much more difficult than working harder. It takes more time, detail, and effort to figure out your exact formula for success. He has shot my career in a positive direction since day one, and Im extremely thankful to be able to know him as a coach, mentor, and friend. BOOM!

Acknowledgments
One of our favorite sayings at Landow Performance is: If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. This adage is especially relevant to the process of publishing a book, and we would like to acknowledge the immense help, effort, patience, and guidance we received from others during this project.
First, we would like to offer our deepest gratitude to our magnificent editors at Human Kinetics: Michael Mejia, who first had the idea for this project and got the ball rolling, helping us through some of the books most difficult early stages and reviews; Cynthia McEntire, who guided us through numerous revisions; and Shawn Donnelly, who navigated us through the final steps. Many thanks to Mark Allemand and Jenny Lokshin from the marketing team, along with the copyeditor and everyone else at Human Kinetics who worked behind the scenes to make this book happen.
We would also like to thank the Landow Performance staffespecially Amber Felchle, our facility manager, who is the vital spark behind Landow Performances daily business operations and helped coordinate much of the effort from our end. Augustine Agyei, the director of NFL combine preparation and coaches director at Landow Performance, was instrumental in the composition of this book; Augie was extremely accommodating for author interviews, and shared his expertise from the perspective of a coach currently leading an elite-level combine prep program. Augie also did the heavy lifting for this books novice and elite training programming. Jin Yuan, a sports performance coach at Landow Performance, helped us write eloquent descriptions of elite-level recovery modalities; Jin and Augie were also on site for the books photo shoot to help ensure quality.
We truly appreciate the excellent work from our books photographer, Adam Bratten, who is also a sports performance coach at Landow Performance; Adam blended his photographers precision and coaching expertise together to produce some marvelous photos. We would also like to thank the books models for being so gracious with their time and effort; Travis Duffle, Marcus Moore, Joe Parker, and Eddie Yarbrough were instrumental in capturing the exact positions we want to display.
A big thanks also goes to Gray Cook at Functional Movement Systems (FMS) for graciously allowing us to show and describe some of the tests involved in the Functional Movement Screen; Kyle Barrow from FMS helped us to ensure that we described these tests accurately.
