There are decisive moments in the life of a nation, as in the life of a man, which can decide its whole fate. Today we are living at a time of historical decisiveness in the existence of the nation. A single year at this stage means more than generations of centuries at other stages. What has happened, what we succeeded in doing and what we failed to do, in the course of these two years will determine our fate for generations to come. If any serious errors have been made during this time, it will be regretted for many years ahead. If, on the other hand, anything really worth-while had been accomplished in these two years, it represents an achievement of decisive and world-wide significance.
