INTRODUCTION

One of the more satisfying feelings in the world earnestly emerges within each of our bodies whenever we personally accomplish something that we had specifically set out for. Whether its a skyscraping objective like becoming an esteemed expert in an area that is widely considered difficult, or something as simple as tying our shoes, the sensation that stems from completing an intention is always deeply appreciated. So much so that, in recent years, it had me constantly pondering the following question:

How does one consistently attain whatever it is that they aim to achieve?

My initial purpose in thinking through this uncluttered, yet astonishingly complex, inquiry was not to acquire a direct answer. Dont get me wrongsolving this puzzling question would be nothing short of tremendousbut my opening intent was to candidly gain a stronger understanding of what I am asking.

To do this, I have taken action. Action in mental thought, and action as it relates to physical energy usage. Introspectively, I have spent an absurd amount of stamina analyzing the previously referenced feat of tying a pair of shoes. To eloquently explain my analysis, lets take my brand new, crisp, white Nike Air Force Ones and use them as the centerpiece of the investigation. By the time this literary piece is published, due to the number of hours that Ill end up operating in the kicks between now and then, they probably wont be as snow-colored as preferred, but thats beside the point. When putting them on, the aim, with each shoe, is to create a sturdy knot that will allow me to move with ease, which, in turn, ensures that I will not have to worry about potentially falling over due to a poorly generated loop.

With the objective understood, it is now time to take my energy and put it into action. As someone in their twenties, I can confidently say that, due to countless reps, I dont have to give too much thought to this particular deed. Without employing a ton of cerebral energy, I pick up the laces, thread one lace over its opposing counterpart, and tightly pull. Once the connection is formed in the middle of the shoe, I generate a loop with one of the laces. Holding this in place, I take my vacant hand and wrap the non-looped lace around the looped one. From here, I pull the shoelace through the concocted hole, and voila, my shoe is now tied. I repeat this act with the other tennis shoe, and now I have officially completed the task at hand.

From an unvarnished perspective, how was my ambition realized in this three-dimensional space? The answer is quite elementary: First off, I had the resources necessary for success: two pure feet, functioning fingers, and the uncontaminated shoes themselves. Additionally, although I did not enter this sphere knowing how to properly lace up a pair of kicks, I have put time and energy toward the act on innumerable occasions. This has allowed me to learn what is effective, and whats not, which has ultimately led to me mastering the procedure. The countless hours of energy spent on tying my shoes throughout my lifetime has also armed me with an unwavering belief in my ability to achieve success in the act.

From here, I can assuredly say that a ratified recipe for achieving ones aims is the following:

  1. Own the appropriate resources.
  2. Have a clear understanding of the ideal outcome.
  3. Take consistent action to further improve your success rate when performing the act.
  4. Carry an unshakeable belief in your ability to flourish in the feat.

Keep in mind, for objectives to fully materialize, you must possess an unimpeded want to see the specific desire come to fruition. The intensity with which you crave for something to corporealize actively influences when the intention will be revealed.

All this is great. So, since we feel marvelous when we steadily complete our missions, how do we take the shoe example, a proven victory, and duplicate this creation in all areas of our life, spanning from our ability to productively oversee our physical and mental health, to our personal power when it comes to actualizing prosperity, all the way over to the strength of our relationships with family and friends? In other words, since weve already proved that we can effectively succeed in producing our desired result, is it possible to clone this exercise and use the same strategy for whenever we would like to recognize any other particular outcome?

If the answer is yes, then how do we brand this formula and habitually utilize it throughout our daily lives without having to put too much thought into it? On any given day, we partake in countless actions where a positive or negative result is possible, making it incredibly difficult to stop and break down each scenario.

With that said, is there something that we can do during our waking hours that will instinctively stamp the success code into our consciousness to further assist us in attaining whatever it is that we long for? Yes, and that something is physical exercise.

While this may come as a shock to some, it has been scientifically proven that consistently exercising in any fashion is a wildly effective way to develop a strong framework for achieving desired results. This book will defend that claim and, because of its positive and educational messaging, will simultaneously uplift your mind and spirit. As someone who aspires to improve each day, I believe it is especially important to only consume content that will aid you in your personal growth. So thats what Ive created for you with this product.

Before beginning, I would like to make something clear. The purpose of Functional Training for the Mind is not to convince you to work out more than you already do. Its sole objective is to outline how routinely exercising will inherently aid you in your pursuit of success across all areas of your life.
