Introduction
Several years ago I was invited to speak at a marine industry conference in Newport, Rhode Island. The purpose of my presentation was to share what I was doing from a management perspective at Rybovich, my employer in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Rybovich is a world-renowned sportfish manufacturer and yacht service facility. Prior to my presentation in Rhode Island, the company went through a merger of three relatively equal organizations. Rybovich also successfully weathered the recession of the early 90s. The conference attendees in Newport were eager to hear about what we had done at our company to transition through these difficult times.
