The Age of the Digital Unicorn
A ileen Lee, a venture capital investor, first used the term unicorn in a 2013 TechCrunch article to describe the rare occurrence of privately held startups that were valued at over $1 billion. Today, this term is used to describe anything, across a wide range of disciplines, that proves to be rare, iconic, and magical.
Similarly, a Digital Unicorn is a rare individual whothrough their digital skills and capacityexceeds expectations, takes businesses to the next level, and performs above the highest standards when faced with uncertainties about the future.
Digital Unicorns set themselves apart from ordinary individuals on a continual basis. They have learned to master digital skills, ranging from the most basic to the most complexand people love being in their presence because of the immense value that they bring to the table.
A Digital Unicorn is a person from any industry, experience, culture, or background who has the remarkable ability to find, analyze, utilize, share, and create ongoing value for others, using technology and other related capabilities, including:
