Foreword
All children (and parents) misbehave. In the second edition of Parenting a Child with a Behavior Problem, Cheryl and Penny offer thoughtful and practical guidance in recognizing behavior problems that affect our children.
As Cheryl and Penny say, children don't come with an instruction booklet. Most often parents develop a system that incorporates their experience with their philosophy on discipline. Frequently this is successful. However, even good children present with difficult behaviors. Parenting a Child with a Behavior Problem helps parents understand a variety of problematic childhood behaviors and foster an environment of positive development. Penny and Cheryl weave real-life anecdotes with ways of understanding, as well as parenting strategies, into a concise and updated guide. Parenting a Child with a Behavior Problem is appropriate for parents of children with the "normal" range of difficulties and those with more troubling and severe behaviors. Cheryl and Penny draw on their experiences, both personally and professionally, to create proactive parenting strategies that empower parents and families.
