HoloLens Play Room The HoloLens can transform any scene to suit any activity , such as playing a game. The device detects the shapes of the objects in the area and adds interactive hologr aphic images to them wherever you look. Wearers can interact with the holograms using hand gestures.
HOLOLENS
The Microsoft HoloLens mer ges the r eal and virtual worlds through hologr aphic technology . This is augmented reality , where physical objects have hologr ams laid over them. The HoloLens can turn any wall into a TV screen, turn any table into a personal computer , or create an entir ely imaginary world to explore. Different uses The HoloLens can be used as a communication aid. A holographic video window shows the caller , but the technology also allows that caller to see the world just like you doand even draw hologr aphic instructions before your eyes. Communication The holographic pr ocessor is able to turn a 2-D design made on a screen into a 3-D version that can be viewed from all angles. The hologr am can then be made real using a 3-D printer . HOW IT WORKS Head-mounted display Pilots of the F35 Lightning II wear a head-mounted display that receives video feeds fr om camer as all around the air craft . Using the display , the pilot can see right through the air craft just like wearing a pair of X-ray goggles. F35 head-mounted dis play The HoloLens contains three pr ocessor s: one is the central contr oller , another is for graphics, while the thir d scans the surroundings so hologr ams always appear in the correct places. Holograms can be manipulated by swiping, pinching, tapping, and rotating. HoloLens can be controlled with a large variety of simple voice commands. Sensors in the visor trac k the users eyes and adjust the holographic images to match. Holograms can be pinned in one place in the scene, so they behave as if they were physical objects. Holographic objects can also move around and interact with real objects in the scene. HoloLens can also create a scene that is completely filled with computer- generated imagery .
