To the children of the world... and their parents and teachers
Introduction
Your radio is playing. The music is melodious, and you feel like humming along with it. The rhythmic energy reaches through to you even though the radio is not connected to any electrical outlet. All the vibrations are there, simply changed in the mechanism of the radio; it is transmitting sound, and you are receiving music. In a similar way, our minds have a capacity to communicate. And just as there are many stations on the radio, so are there many channels of the mind.
In this book, the authors will try to direct your attention to Understanding all the channels of a childs mind and the various forms of communication the child is capable of Utilizing. What purpose does the radio serve in our daily affairs? Not only do we listen to music, but by the mere flick of a dial we can hear news of the entire world. Another flick, and we hear a live baseball game at the very instant it is being played. Why is it, then, that we express surprise that children can convey messages by what seem to be extraordinary means but are actually as simple as hearing a baseball game on the radio?
Parents will find when listening to conversations among children that their ESP experiences are quite ordinary; that is, they are of the type that occur frequently. A childs psychic experience may at first appear extraordinary to a parent because the information the child received was obtained through channels different from those ordinarily accepted. However, had the child answered the telephone and received the same information, his or her parents would have considered it perfectly acceptable. Why, then, should it be difficult to accept that a child is relaying information received in a new or different way?
Lets turn to some of those channels of the childs mind that encompass areas such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition. What do these technical-sounding words mean, and why do we call them communication channels? These three words are important terms for the type of experience conveyed through that particular means, or channel. They describe methods of transmission and communication and are no more to be feared than the labels given to other means of transmission and communication, such as radio and television . In the future, telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition will probably be as commonplace. But it is the present we are concerned with, and the needs of children tuned into these channels who may be confused and anxious about their experiences because their parents and teachers dont Understand the channels. The primary purpose of this book is to serve as a guide for creative parents and teachers by helping them to Understand children who are curious about their experiences and who want questions answered. The only way parents and teachers can offer answers is to know what the questions are. Some of both are offered in this primer, but work in this area is still in its infancy. It may be generations before we fully Understand such childrens experiences as these:
Mommy, dont go upstairs. The telephone is going to ring. Grandma wants to talk to you. When seconds later the phone rings and Grandma is indeed on the phone, Mommy jokes about her child having ESP but thinks nothing more of the incident, even though it happens time and time again, with different callers.
Daddy, I had a bad dream in the night that Mr. Wilson was having an accident and his car hit a tree. Daddy tells the child it was just a bad dream and to go back to sleep. Days later when the parent learns that Mr. Wilson accidentally has crashed his auto into a tree, he is puzzled and concerned. How did his child know thisbefore it happened? And what should he as a parent do if his child has more bad dreams?
Mommy, Aunt Mary is coming to see us today. Because her sister Mary lives in the next town, many miles away, and always calls before coming to visit, the mother calls this wishful thinking on the part of her child. Later in the afternoon when Aunt Mary does arrive for an Unexpected visit, Mommy is a little disconcerted but dismisses it as coincidence, even though it is not the first time something like this has happened. The child is always saying crazy things.
Daddy, my friend wants me to go out and play with him. Not seeing anyone with the boy, the father tells him to stop making Up stories or he will be punished.
Mommy, I floated through the door and then I was flying very high, but I could see me still down in my bed. Then, after a while, I decided to come back so I floated back into my room and up to the ceiling and then back to my bed. Mommy tells her daughter to go back to sleep and not bother her. The child asks, Do you go flying, Mommy? The mother rebukes the child. No, and neither do you, Miss Smarty-pants. Now go back to bed. The child is perplexed and in the future does not tell her mother any more about the flying. No effort has been made to Understand what has taken place.
Lets go into the other room where the cat is. I want to play with the rocking horse in there. Knowing that she and her child have never visited here before, the woman is amazed to find when entering the next room that there is a cat and there is a rocking horse in the corner. The mother simply laughs off the situation as spooky.
How can a parent deal with these experiences? Must one have special training? Just what is involved in these experiences? In this book, the authors present straightforward explanations for parents who want to gain insight into the nature of their childs experiences. As you read on, you will learn not only the specific ways in which these forms of abilities help the child but also how they help parents and teachers as well. Clairvoyance, telepathy, and precognition work in very positive ways to help a child Utilize his or her natural abilities in a creative and productive manner. Various ESP (extrasensory perception) tests conducted by responsible and highly respected workers in this field have been shown to act as a barometer of the relationship between teacher and child. In the home they can provide a similar gauge in Understanding the real emotions between parent and child.
A child who is going to develop in a healthy and normal way will have psychic ability that is disciplined and developed. This applies equally to parents, who suddenly may realize that they, too, have had unusual experiences they cannot explain. Perhaps they vaguely remember an experience they had many years ago, but think of it in terms of coincidence or have never told anyone about it for fear of ridicule. They may be embarrassed to speak of it for fear of being called peculiar, or they may have simply dismissed the experience.
ESP is not supernatural, and it is not a religion. It is a frontier of the mind. There is great confusion about the difference between parapsychological work and popular occultism. As writers and as psychics we, the authors, do not believe ESP is demonic. We believe that children suffer their own private hells, and that through the knowledge and guidance of parents and teachers, children can develop healthy minds and healthy bodies. We wish to provide help in eliminating some of the problems and fears parents may be faced with, to help in Understanding what is happening in a childs psychic experiences. Your child may be tuned into a channel you cannot see or hear. But if he or she is rebuked or scoffed at, irreparable damage may result. As a result many children withdraw into themselves.
