Christmas in Interesting India is the fifth and last book in this series that celebrates Christmas through the eyes of a little boy named Caleb. He finds out interesting information about Christmas traditions in various countries all over the world!

The fifth country Caleb explores and shares information on in this series, is Interesting India. Caleb will tell you about what is used for Christmas trees in India and how the Christian people in India celebrate Christmas.

Caleb finds out unusual and interesting information about Christmas in different countries and each time he is super excited to tell his friends about what he has learned. Some countries celebrate Christmas through a special meal and others through the sharing of presents.

There is a moral in each story that Caleb will share. In this story about Interesting India, the focus will be on religions and how the Christians in India celebrate Christmas. Caleb will learn that even though people have different beliefs, they are all the same and should be treated the same. It doesnt matter what religion you follow, all people are special and shouldnt be judged for the religion that they follow. Caleb enjoys sharing the moral in each story because he hopes it will help the readers to appreciate everyone equally and not to judge because of different religion beliefs.

This story can be enjoyed by children aged 3 5 years as an assisted reading book. There are some words that may be difficult to read which will encourage Mom or Dad to assist.

Hello again! Its Caleb and I am going to share my last exciting Christmas story with you today. This story is about Christmas in Interesting India and how the people of India go about celebrating Christmas.

When my Mom was little, my Grandmother always took my Mom to church on Christmas morning. This service was a very special service where the story of the birth of Christ was shared and Christmas carols were sung. The minister always reminded the people attending his service what the true meaning of Christmas was and how it should be celebrated. The service usually took a little longer, but everyone who attended the service, enjoyed it very much.

My Mom has carried on this family tradition with me and each year my family goes to church on Christmas morning. Childrens church on Christmas morning is so much fun and we are so lucky because we have extra time to learn about Jesus and the story of his birth. We sing Christmas songs and eat Christmas cake and sometimes, if we are lucky, there are Christmas crackers too!

There are many different religions that the beautiful people of our world follow, and my Mom always taught me that somebody from a different religion is the same as me and is no different. Yes, they may believe in different things, but religion doesnt make a person good or bad. We should love everyone equally, it doesnt matter which religion they belong to. Love is a language that is spoken by all people, all over the world!

Did you know that in India, Christmas is a small celebration because very few people in India are Christians. That means that very few people will celebrate Christmas!

Im sure you are wondering what a Christian is? Well, a Christian is a person who believes in the bible, celebrates Christmas and believes in Jesus.

Midnight mass which is a church service held at midnight, is a very important service for Christians in India. Families will walk together to mass and afterwards there will be a big feast of different foods as well as the giving and receiving of presents. Most of the churches in Interesting India will be decorated with Poinsettia flowers and candles.

Do you know what a Poinsettia flower is? Well, this is a special Christmas flower. Its flower is red and the leaves are green, exactly the traditional colors of Christmas.

In Interesting India, they dont have traditional Christmas trees like we have! The people in India dont have fir trees so they either use a banana or mango tree, which they decorate with Christmas decorations and Christmas lights.

Sometimes if the family cant get a banana or mango tree to use as a Christmas tree, they use mango leaves to decorate their homes.

Some Christians in India put small clay oil burning lamps on the flat roofs of their homes to show their neighbors that they believe that Jesus is the light of the world.

The Christmas star lantern and Jesus in the manger scene is found in many homes in India over Christmas time.

Im sure you are wondering whether Santa Claus delivers presents to children in India? Well, you will be happy to know that he does, but he doesnt deliver them from a sleigh drawn by reindeers but from a cart drawn by horses! Funny to think that Santa arrives on a cart drawn by horses in India! Santa Claus or Father Christmas is known at Christmas Baba in Interesting India.

What a funny name, Christmas Baba!
