Counting days to Christmas is one of the most stressful things for a Christmas elf. Santa wants everything to be perfect and ready for his departure around the world. It was one of those cold, windy days on North Pole. It was heavily snowing and a thick crust of frozen snow covered all the area around the Santa's kingdom. Elves were working hard and day by day, they got almost everything ready and set. The main thing about making and wrapping Christmas presents is that every year, there is different number of them. The amount of presents depends on how many good children deserved to be visited by Santa. Every year, the list of good children gets shorter or longer. This is very important thing to know because Christmas elves sew special Christmas bags for all the presents to fit in. These bags are made out of special kind of cloth which stretches and widens for exact number of presents.

All of the elves were given a task to get the Christmas bags ready. Most of them gathered all the magic threads, thousands of them and piled them up.

Some of the elves worked on intertwining them and some of them were piling up all the presents.

Nimble was one of the elves who were in charge of counting presents and sorting them out.

It was very important to precisely count each of them and put them into correct piles.

-Fifty four, fifty five, fifty six...

- Nimble was holding a chart with a long paper wrapped around his feet.

He had a red pen and was carefully tagging and labeling the list of presents.

Hours passed and he was still very focused on his task.

-How many did you count so far? -asked another Christmas elf while putting gifts on the big pile.

-Two hundred and eleven, so far! - replied Nimble proudly.

There were still thousands to be sorted out, but Nimble really loved any kind of work because he knew that all the children will be very happy and joyful for Christmas.

Presents were being sorted out according to their size, color and shapes. There were piles of big, square ones, small and round, with one color wrapping papers or with dotted wrapping papers.

Every Christmas elf was carrying at least ten of the presents which they were giving to another elves who sorted them out. Suddenly, one of the elves who was carrying the packages tripped on a ribbon.

He fell on the other elf who was in front of him. It continued to happen all the way up to the sorting piles. Dozens of elves tripped and fell with hundreds of presents ending scattered around.

-Oh, no! -Nimble screamed and dropped his chart. Everything was a mess. The piles collapsed and all the presents got mixed up.

-We need to count everything from the start again.- Nimble exhaled nervously.

-Everyone, leave your current tasks and gather all the mixed up presents! Don't lose any! -said Nimble and picked up his chart from the floor.

The day soon ended and all the elves pretty much managed to pick up all the gifts again.

The next morning it was time to put everything in Christmas bags.

Nimble was the first one to appear in the morning, making sure everything goes as its planned. -Everyone ready to put presents in bags? -he said, making a loud whistle.

-Bags are ready!- replied one of the elves and finished putting bags in the Santa's sleigh.

-Presents are here! -said the other one pointing to five huge piles of various gifts. -Let the Christmas trip begin! -Nimble yelled and gave a sign to the elves to start packing up the Christmas bags.

Few hours later, all the piles where gone and all the presents were carefully sorted in five big bags. All of a sudden, Nimble approached the sleigh and raised his eyebrows.

-There's space in this bag. - he noticed. -There are presents missing! - he inhaled deeply and turned around, trying to find the lost packages.

He looked under the sleigh, around the Santa's workshop, underneath the wrapping tracks and everywhere in hope of finding what's missing.

-We can't tie up the bags if there are presents missing! -he concluded and gathered all the elves. He became nervous but very determined to find them.

He lined up ten teams and ordered them to search through all the factory. Soon after, there were hundreds of elves working together, searching and looking and climbing and crawling everywhere.

-Nothing here!- he heard from the workshop.

-Look harder! Try harder! We must find the missing presents! -Nimble was encouraging anxious elves. -We can do it! If we work together, I know we will make everything alright! -he paced up and down, keeping his eye on every corner of the workshop.

-We can do it, all as one! We can do it! Everyone!

-he started singing and chanting and only seconds after the whole factory echoed with his song. His determination was a success.

-Here! Look here! -everyone gathered around one Christmas elf who climbed the tall ladder.

-They probably flew away from one of the piles and got stuck up there! -Nimble said and ordered other elves to pick up the missing presents.

He got back to the sleigh and smiled Put the last Christmas presents in the Christmas bags! - Finally, all of the bags were full and all of the elves were happy and satisfied.

Nimble climbed up the sleigh and proudly tied up all the bags. He turned around, got up on a seat, raised his hands and made the loudest whistle:

My friends! Christmas trip can begin! Presents are ready! Good work everyone, I knew we can do it! You're the best Christmas elves ever!

- all of the elves started throwing their hats in the air and singing Christmas songs.
