The minute she would see us, she would dived behind the couch to hide, particularly if Pluto was wit h us. From time to time, she would just watch us once she realised that we would not chase her or do her any harm. Sometimes she would sit next to the couch watching us and other times she would hide behind it where Pluto could not see her or get to her. She made herself at home. Hearing a noise under the kitchen sink one morning, I had a look to see what it was. Lo and behold, I couldnt believe my eyes.
There amongst all the boxes of cleaning equipment was Mommy cat with three very tiny, very cute kit tens. Living under the kitchen sink amongst all the boxes and clutter was not very comfortable or safe for Mommy and the kit tens. The dustbin was removed and the space enclosed to make it easy to feed the good little M ommy. For the first few weeks, the kittens eyes were still closed so all they did was eat and sleep and s leep. . and sleep some more.
They liked sleeping in a big bunch on top of one another for comfort and for wa rmth Mommy took very good care of her kittens feeding them and cleaning them. She was very protective and would growl, hiss and claw you if you got too c lose. She was very vigilant always watching to make sure they were safe and nobody interfered with them. Many cats live in the neighborhood who have no home and have to hunt in dirt bins for food. To help them we put food and water out on a little t able. Amongst the regular visitors is One-Eye the Tom-Cat.
He fights hard to protect his territory and lost his eye in a fight. He looks very mean but is very kind and tolerant to some cats especially Little Red Little Red is one of our favourite visitors. Only a few months old his mother had abandoned him. He is a very noisy little cat and sits across the road calling for his food. He does not stop meowing loudly until you have put the food down and moved away. He is very skittish but wont back- off when there is food avail able When he has finished eating, he always comes to the window and says Meow to say thank you for the meal.
He has very good man ners. As soon as the kittens eyes opened they began to explore. There were many exciting thing to investigate like the funny stuff in the bowls and the funny blue things like the mats.
