You dont need any experience or even expertise. You just have to follow the steps that Im going to teach you.
Can you follow simple instructions? Are you willing to put in the work? Then you can make money from Amazon Kindle Publishing and this is your manifesto. Chapter 1 Choose Your Main Topic Not all topics are created equal. Some topics will naturally make more money than the others. The good news is profit is relative. How much do you really wanna make through Kindle Publishing? For some, $500 per month is enough. For others, they need $5,000 (and they will work much harder for that).
Also, some niches are super competitive like the weight loss niche. Sure, its a topic with big potential for profits. But youll likely earn less at the beginning because you still dont have a solid reputation and youre only writing your first book in this niche. Thats why I said money is relative. Theres a lot of factors to consider like: - Are you interested in this topic? - Is the competition too much? - Can you write a better book in that niche? - How much money do you really need to make? The way I find my topic is pretty simple. First, I start with the biggest niches.
These are Health, Money & Relationships. Under these 3 are categories that I can target. E.g. Under MONEY is the topic of MAKING MONEY ONLINE. Just like weight loss, this is a really big topic. I cant just a book about making money online or home based business.
I need to be more specific. The next thing I will do is go to Amazon Kindle Category List. https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Kindle-Store-eBooks/zgbs/digital-text/154606011/ref=zg_bs_nav_kstore_1_kstore Next, I will look at the current top 20 paid in the sub-category. The topics that I found are mostly about: 1 Amazon Selling 2 Kindle Publishing Knowing this, I can now consider my options. Do I write about Amazon Selling or Kindle Publishing or any other topic under the umbrella of Home Based Business?
That decision is up to you. (Thats why you are reading this book right now I follow my own advice ) My suggestion is to not get caught up by every little detail. (Thats why you are reading this book right now I follow my own advice ) My suggestion is to not get caught up by every little detail.
Just choose a niche, and then find some sub-categories and smaller sub-topics that you can target. Its the best way for a beginner to compete. DO NOT write books about mega huge topics. Narrow it down. Its the only really way you can compete for now. Chapter 2 Choose a Title Got your topic? Then its time to come up with a working title.
Your title is super important. You must always promise something on your title or make them avoid a pain. Here are some formulas I use for coming up with titles:
- How to _________ (Avoid Pain) Without _______ (More Pain) in _________ (Time Frame)
Lets say youre writing about LOSING BELLY FAT FOR NEW MOMS. Your title/sub-title could be:
How to Lose 3 lbs. of Belly Fat Without Going to the Gym in 14 Days or Less This could be your title or your sub-title. If you can think of one or two words that can sum up your title, then much better.
For this book, the title is KINDLE MANIFESTO. It obviously states that this book is about Kindle Publishing. For your belly fat book, it could be:
The Belly Fat Eliminator Belly Fat No More Belly Fat Buster Anything that may catch your target markets attention is a good title. Heres another formula that I use
- How to ________ (Get Something) Without _______ (Doing the Sucky Stuff the things your market doesnt want to do) in ___________ (Time Frame)(Time Frame and Without Doing the Sucky Stuff is Interchangeable)
Lets choose the topic of MUSCLE GAIN FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS. Are title could be: Muscle Gain Accelerator How to Gain 15lbs. in 60 Days or Less Without Giving Up Your Favorites Desserts Another example If youre writing about KINDLE PUBLISHING FOR NEWBIESthen your title could be: Kindle Publishing for Newbies How to Write and Publish a book in 30 Days or Less Even If Youre Not an Expert or a Writer The last formula that I wanna share with you is this:
- How to _______ (Turn Problem) Into (Benefit)
E.g.
How to Turn Credit into a Real Estate Investment How to Turn Your Belly Fat into an Energy Source Self-Defense for Nerds (Like You and Me!):
How to Use Your Weakness as a Weapon of Mass Destruction Chapter 3 Book Outline Outlining your book is one of the best thing that you could ever do. By outlining a book, you wont have to spend weeks trying to write and edit. Youll just write, write and write. Why? Because youll know exactly what your next topic is. Youll know that X should come before Y, so youll write X first. Get it? Having an outline is like having a map to wherever you want to go.
Now, some people will be able to create an outline (a Table of Contents with more details) in just a few minutes or hours. This will be true especially for those who are already experts on their topic for a very long time. And some people will need more research. The first ones dont really need my help. You just put in the steps to achieve the goal and voila!, you now have an outline. The ones that I wanna help are those who are confused on where to start.
Personally, if Im writing about a topic Im not very familiar with, Ill always start with Amazon books themselves. I will go Amazon.com and search for books that are like the one I wanna write. Lets say I want to write about Self-Publishing on Amazon Ill go search at at least 5 books and then look at their Table of Contents. Then Ill take a screenshot of their Table of Contents. Try to find the topics that appear over and over again. For my self-publishing example, these topics always comes up:
