Apple has beenpleasing consumers for many years with their innovative and stylishelectronic items. They blew up the music industry with theirsignature iPods and have allowed consumers to enjoy their favoritetunes wherever they go at low cost as well as providing aconvenient, portable item. One of the newest creations of Apple isin the form of a tablet, which was an electronic device that iseasily portable and offers touch-screen usage for easy navigationand convenience. The iPad is also host to a wealth of entertainmentthrough a variety of specifically designed applications, givingusers a world of access to their favorite entertainment as well aswork oriented communication. The iPad first burst onto the scene in2010 with their first model, the original iPad, and have beenmaking improvements ever since.

The first iPadcame out in January of 2010. The world was in shock and awe at howincredible this device looked at first; it was the size of alaptop, but the convenience and portability of a large Smartphone.Offering a 9.7 inch touch-screen display, the iPad was a breath offresh air in the world of electronics. Some felt that the item wasmuch too big to be carried around, but as sales noted, it was a bighit. Stores were selling out everywhere and people couldnt getenough of the iPad. It has an Apple A4 processor at its core anddisplayed images at a beautiful 1,024x768 resolution. The iPad alsoran off Apples iOS 5.1.a operating system, giving it all the greatApple features and controls Apple consumers are already used to. Itoffered a handful of wireless features like Wi-Fi connectivity andBluetooth 2.1 options. This added to the convenience and wirelessattraction. With 256 MD of RAM, the applications ran smoothly andeffortlessly.

Anotherinteresting aspect for the first iPad was the 3G cellular option.Much like a cell phone, having 3G would allow you to have internetaccess without the need for connecting to Wi-Fi. This would beactivated with a monthly fee.

As always,technology advances and become better. Apple introduced their newiPad 2 on March of 2011. They kept the same screen size, 9.7inches, as well as the resolution size. What did change, however,was the internal processor, getting upped to an Apple A5 chip.There was even a small boost to the CPU power as well as doublingthe RAM size. What really activated this change were the hugeamounts of new applications that hit the market. Some more advancedthan others. In order to run them effectively, Apple needed toenhance their machine to give it that extra performance boost.

The iPad 2 isreally where applications and application makers reached for thestars. Many new complex games came out that took advantage of thetouch-screen features. Adventure games had crisper graphics as wellas precise control. This is also why Apple added a gyroscope to theiPad. Games can now be controlled by simply tilting the tablet tothe left or right, adding extra control.

Another yearpasses and another tablet is released. Apple likes to surpriseconsumers with a new model of their hottest item 12-18 months inbetween. This is what led to the unveiling of the iPad 3. Becominga bigger item than their first tablet, the iPad 3 added a whole newlevel of clarity in the touch screen.

The biggestchange was taking their iPad from the resolution of 1,024x768 andupped the game to 2,048x1536 pixels with a 264ppi. This new changeis called Retina Display which amazes consumers and tech criticsalike. This big jump in visuals brings even more applicationmanufacturers as they produce console-quality gaming experiences.The retina display also touts the e-book world as a way to replaceyour older e-book reader. The crisp lines, the incredible contrastgives consumers the feeling that they are reading something thatlooks even sharper than if they were reading an actual book. Aftera consumer has downloaded their favorite e-book readingapplication, they can keep a library of their favorite books foreasy accessibility.

With the addedRetina Display technology, comic book companies jumped at thechance to present consumers their comics in digital versions. Thedisplay was exceptional for representing the small text as well asthe vibrant colors of typical comic books. Comic fans wereenthusiastic at the change, giving them instant access to thenewest titles and a library to store everything when they needthem.

Of course withthe image enhancements, also come the advancements in power. TheiPad 3 really ups its game by bringing in the new Apple A5X chipthat moves even faster and smoother than both its predecessors. TheRAM even gets doubled to handle all the new applications to theiPad 3 boasts a total of 1024 MB of Ram for incredibleperformance.

The iPad 3still holds the same screen size, coming in at 9.7 like the othertwo before it. There is still great Wi-Fi connectivity to surf theinternet at home, or wherever there is a wireless signal. What alsostayed was the 3G connectivity, but it was enhanced with LET on 4Gmodels. This offered faster download speeds giving consumers betteraccess to streaming media. The weight of the iPad 3 increased alittle bit since the iPad 2, but thats only because of the uppedmemory and enhances power. Its definitely a small sacrifice toenjoy this super-fast, incredible technology.

The iPad was abig hit when it first arrived on the market and continues to amazeeven the most stoic of consumers. Expect Apple to release newermodels as time progresses. They have succeeded in creating a modeland enhancing it to adapt to consumers everyday lives. Perhaps inthe future the newer iPads will either get bigger, or even smaller.One thing to expect is that Apple will still have a few tricks uptheir sleeve and will plan on releasing a fast, easy-to-use iPadfor years to come.
