About the Author
Peter Pollock is a long-time blogger at PeterPollock.com , a conference speaker, husband, stay-at-home dad, and, of course, author.
Hes also a web hosting trainer and geek (he was so excited to get an iPad that he made up a song and dance about it).
British by birth, he currently lives in Californias Central Valley with his wife and three children. He ran a web hosting business for nine years, and has been building websites for even longer than that. This has led him to fall in love (possibly a little TOO much in love) with WordPress, and he cant understand why anyone would use anything different to build a site.
Peter also writes childrens books in his spare time, although spare time is a little difficult for him to find these days.
Ultimately, Peters passion is to help others achieve their goals with their websites and blogs and he believes that, with a little help, anyone can have an awesome site without having to spend thousands of dollars to make it.
Dedication
To my wife, Debbie. Thank you for loving me, believing in me, and supporting me all these years. This is the culmination of so many years of late nights, hard work, and vacations spent with me on the computer a dozen times a day. I couldnt and wouldnt have done it without you. I love you.
Authors Acknowledgments
First and foremost, I want to thank God and His Son Jesus Christ for loving me even in my sin and being willing to give it all to save me.
I would also like to thank the following people:
My wife for her never-ending patience and support (and chocolate pastries); my kids for being my little cheerleaders; my mum and dad for believing in me and helping me edit and for that day back in 1989 when you argued with my English teacher that I was capable of doing double-English in my GCSEs; Jennie Pollock, my amazing sister, for not taking ALL of the writing ability in the family; and Sarah, Rachel, Ruth, Charlotte, and Breann for watching the kids while I tried to write.
The team at Wiley, especially Amy for giving me this opportunity and being so helpful and supportive. Charlotte, Debbye, and John for taking what was sometimes akin to drivel that I churned out and editing it into a great book. This could never have come to completion without you.
Id also like to thank the hundreds of people who have supported me as I went through this endeavor, friends old and new who took the time to drop me a word or two of encouragement on Facebook as I went through. Id like to particularly thank Ellen Gerstein, Kelby Carr, and Deborah Ng for the opportunities they gave me that led to this book being started.
Finally, I cannot leave out Kathy Katdish Richards, Duane Scott, Michael Perkins, Michael Hyatt, Molly D. Campbell, and Lisette Brodey for their encouragement, friendship, advice, and positivity. And I thank Spam, Shamu, and Amber-Lynn for taking their turns babysitting while I hid out in the office staring blankly at the screen wondering whether the book would just write itself if I stared long enough at the screen.
The list could go on and on, and to all those who remain anonymous in this list, please know that this book couldnt have happened without your help, prayers, and encouragement.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it took a small army to get this book done and I appreciate you all!
