When I first arrived in Crdoba, afterspending a full week in Salta, I was still trying to figure out thebest way to pick up Argentine girls. Two weeks later, after goingout most nights with a pack of almost a dozen gringos as motivatedas I was, pieces of the puzzle started to fall into place.

Its amazing how fast you learn with otherguys. Its similar to how you work out harder when you have a buddystanding over you on the bench calling you a pussy for not beingable to push the bar up. Every night wed talk about ourexperiences, share our revelations, and then use all that knowledgethe following night. We got good pretty fast. As a couple of themhave told me, Ive never in my life hit on girls like I havehere. Here are some things we learned:

Lesson 1: Get a cell phone. Whileone-night stands happen, they are much less common than in theStates. A decent phone on a prepaid plan will cost you $50, and a$10 fill-up will last you forever since you will be mostly sendingtext messages. It would be even cheaper if you buy an unlockedphone on the internet before you arrive.

Lesson 2: Know where at least one lovehotel is located. So do you know of a hotel around here? issomething you should never ask your chick. When you think shesabout ready to get banged, take her out to a bar nearby thehotel.

Lesson 3: You need to average at leastfive approaches a day, and not just at night. Girls are everywhere:the park, the university, the gym, the mall, and so on. Itd besilly to wait until 2am to start talking to girls. Remember thatArgentine girls will never approach you, so if youre a shy guy andhave no intention of approaching, dont come to Argentina.

Turns out it is very easy to talk toArgentine girls, but hard to escalate. Every guy has a story thatstarts with She was loving me and ends with Fuck, I dont whathappened. Im pretty sure that the novelty of talking to a gringo(there arent many here) makes them excited to chat for the first20 minutes or so, giving me the impression that she is into me.Once the novelty wears off and the language barrier becomes moreobvious and painful, things fade out. So you need to talk to enoughgirls to catch one whose attraction for you is enough to overcomethe language problem. It helps if she hasnt been laid in awhile.

Lesson 4: You have significantlybetter odds getting laid when you meet a girl in a bar than in aloud club. Go to the house club only after trying your luck at thebars. Only problem is that the bars here are packed with tables andeveryone is sitting down, making for tougher approaches. While theclubs have tons of girls, the young ones there are more concernedwith dancing than hooking up. It really seems like most of themdont want to get laid.

Lesson 5: Forget everything you haveever learned about eye contact. Dont look for it, dont expect it,and dont wait for it. Its a very poor indicator of interest inArgentina.

Lesson 6: Young Argentine girls aremore flakey and have less focus than American girls. If you cantbang an American college girl, it will be very difficult for you topick up an Argentine college girl, though 90% of girls you meet atnight in the city of Crdoba are in college. They also valueattention more than American girls, stringing you along just forvalidation until they get their fix and move on.

The older girls in Crdoba have it tough. Thecompetition is so great that they will make it extremely easy foryou if you happen to meet them (I can count on one hand how manygirls I have met over the age of 25). Proof of how hard it is forlower quality girls out here is that I get much more love from thegringas in the hostel than when I was in ugly countries likeBolivia or Ecuador. But I dont bother because, relativelyspeaking, even the cute gringas in Argentina seem ugly. On the flipside, even the ugly Argentine girls are decent.

Lesson 7: It takes time. The qualityones are projects that take at least a week to crack if you evengot a shot. You need to buckle down, play the text messaging game,hang out with her friends, and keep pushing things into love hotelwhere you just to talk or hacer cucharita (spoon). Do all thiswhile working on other girls. If you stay here for only a weekend,youll need lots of luck. I wouldnt plan anything under twoweeks.

Lesson 8: Dick game works, but dontoverdo it. Girls respond better to jerky & funny thaninteresting & funny. For example, when the girl tells you shedoesnt speak much English, say, Why not? English is a very commonlanguage. When she asks you what you think of Argentina say, Itsalright. The girls are very weird and cold. Dont insult, but makea lot of jokes that you are not impressed with the country orgirls. Point out things like cultural flaws instead of mentioninghow her country has the hottest girls youve ever seen in yourlife.

Lesson 9: Get ready for the head turnwhen you go in for the kiss, which happened to much more inArgentina than in the States. Understand: its a cultural thingthat isnt entirely bad if she sticks around after your attempt.Stay composed like it didnt affect you and retry every 10 minutesor so until you get there. Resist the temptation to force it. Ifyou dont kiss her the first night you meet, forget about it.
