Pronunciation This book includes prounciation guides in the international phonetic alphabet (IPA)and a specially commissioned, crystal-clear, spelled-out pronunciation guide. This is a syllable-based spelling pronunciation. This means that the pronunciation of the word stays as close to the original spelling of the word as is usefully possible and uses the conventions of English spelling to provide an easy-to-understand guide.
