O besity rates in the United States and worldwide are at an all-time high.

Why Juice? As if that werent enough, we are also bombarded with a relentless stream of information about our health in general and weight loss in particular. Were told that eating oat bran will make us lose weight, or that carbs are the enemy and should be avoided, or that we should revert to living like cavemen if we want to lose weight. Its enough to drive anybody crazy.
If youre like most people, you want to feel healthy. Perhaps youre carrying around a few extra pounds, or maybe you feel that your weight has spiraled completely out of control. Even if you are at a healthy weight, you might feel sluggish and want to be healthier. Whatever your individual situation, I feel confident saying that youre frustrated. You have willpower and determination, but youre paralyzed by the choices available to you. You want to give your body what it needs.
You want to feel vibrant, energetic, and attractive. In short, you want to be the best possible version of yourself. I applaud that. It is not an easy thing to look at yourself and decide that you need to make a change. In fact, humans are genetically hardwired to resist change. Our brains interpret any attempt to change behavior as a threat, which is why it can be so very difficult to make a lifestyle change and lose weight.
The fact that you have the determination to do it is huge. Your desire to regain your health is what will get you through this process. Youre going to need that strength to get it done. The question is, which method is really going to help you lose weight and feel great? What is Green Juice? Perhaps youve heard about juicing, a simple diet method that involves drinking fresh juice as part of your daily diet. You may have even run into a juicing enthusiast at the supermarket buying a 50-pound sack of carrots. For many people, though, the idea of drinking green juice is a new one.
They associate juice with the bottled stuff you can buy at the supermarket. Their kids drink a seemingly endless supply of apple juice or orange juice, and they dont understand that the kind of juice that can help you lose weight is something completely different something you cant buy in a supermarket. Green juice is juice that is made primarily from green vegetables. In fact, its primary ingredient is dark leafy greens something that nutritionists have labeled a superfood thanks to the high vitamin and mineral content. Your body needs micronutrients the scientific name for vitamins and minerals to be healthy. While you only need them in very small amounts, typically measured in milligrams, not getting enough of these important nutrients can be very detrimental to your health and well-being.
Micronutrients help support the healthy function of your organs and bodily systems, including metabolism and weight loss. Green Juice vs. Smoothies It is important to differentiate here between green juice and smoothies. A smoothie is a drink in which entire vegetables and/or fruits are blended. Green juice is only the juice; it doesnt include the pulp of the vegetables. While smoothies have their place, the nutritional content of green juice is far superior to that of smoothies.
Smoothies tend to be heavy on fruit, meaning that they are also high in sugar. Because they contain fiber, they also tend to be filling. Your body needs fiber, but the benefit of green juice is that you can consume far more nutrients than you can with a smoothie and without feeling full. The practice of drinking green juice started in Japan, where its known as aojiru. As people in the West learned about the practice, they adopted it. The taste of aojiru is not pleasant, but that does not mean that you must resign yourself to drinking something you dont like.
The green juice recipes in this book are all delicious and healthy. The bottom line is that drinking green juice is a way to ensure that your body gets all the nutrients it needs. Its a drink that is rich in vitamins and minerals, and it can help you to lose weight and improve your health in a variety of ways.
