This boudoir session was the result of luck and happenstance. We were on location at a clients home with a hired model working on an entirely different kind of assignment, one in which our model was intended to be fully clothed in a lusciously glamorous evening gown for a commercial project.

The owner of the estate was not only a wine connoisseur, but also a car aficionado.

I started photographing in the extensive wine cellar, and over the course of a couple hours, we made our way through the estate and outside. Once outdoors, it was clear from the impressive collection that the owner of the estate was not only a wine connoisseur, but also a car aficionado. In an instant (and truthfully, on a whim), the photo session evolved from commercial to boudoir, resulting in some very sexy, fierce photos. Because I adore the excitement and sexiness boudoir photography offers, I will often weave in components of this type of work if the opportunity presents itself.

Our beautiful model, who had not intended to be photographed for boudoir, was such a trouper and totally went with it despite not having traditional lingerie on hand. We had her remove the evening gown, retain her bra, and for lack of anything else, casually wrapped a black scarf low around her hips, sarong style.

At this point in the afternoon, the sun was incredibly strong. My assistant helped me keep the intense light in check with the implementation of a reflector. We had the model keep her eyes closed until the moment I was ready to make my exposure so that she could rest her eyes from the harshness of the light between takes. Being able to think on my feet and notice opportunity when it arises has always been something on which I pride myself. These are skills that I actively try to cultivate. In this instance, both came together amazingly, as we were able to capture this gorgeous woman with an equally stunning Porsche.
