A Note on Dramatic Retellings
Participating in Readers Theater, or dramatic retellings, can greatly improve reading skills, especially fluency. The books in the BEHIND THE CURTAIN series give readers opportunities to learn about important historical events in a fun and engaging way. These books serve as a bridge to more complex texts. All the characters are real figures from history; however, their stories have been fictionalized. To learn more about the people and the events, check out the Viewpoints and Perspectives series and the Perspectives Library series, as the BEHIND THE CURTAIN books are aligned to these stories.
