Contents
I am very pleased to present Vegan Fire & Spice, the first book published by Vegan Heritage Press. The incendiary appeal of this book has been with me since 1998, when Penguin/Plume published my vegetarian title Some Like It Hot. It has been my dream ever since to publish a spicy cookbook that is completely vegan. In Vegan Fire & Spice, I have updated, improved, and veganized 175 of the original recipes from Some Like It Hot, added twenty-five totally new recipes, and provided a helpful introduction.
I think Vegan Fire & Spice is a book whose time has come. New vegan titles are published every year, but its not easy to find vegan cookbooks dedicated to the spicy cuisines. With recipes that range from piquant to scorching, Im proud to fill that gap, offering Vegan Fire & Spice to all heat-seeking vegans, vegetarians, and other savory food lovers everywhere.
