Hello and welcome! We are so delighted that you have picked up this book and are taking your first (or next) step to healing your body using the power of diet and nutrition. We know its possible because we have experienced it ourselves. Between the two of us, we have four autoimmune diseasesulcerative colitis, Hashimotos thyroiditis, postural orthostatic tachycardic syndrome, and ankylosing spondylitiswith symptoms ranging from fatigue, joint pain, heart palpitations, bleeding, and cramping to digestive distress. We lived with these symptoms for years, while our doctors continued to write us prescriptions for medicines designed to treat our symptoms but not heal the root cause.
It wasnt until we went on our own quest for answers that we truly began to understand the impact of food on our health. After poring over medical research and studying nutrition science, we found the autoimmune protocol, a way of eating intended to help people suffering from autoimmune diseases manage and reverse their symptoms. By successfully implementing the autoimmune protocol, we not only put our respective autoimmune diseases into remission, but we also healed our bodies and achieved optimal wellness. What Are Autoimmune Diseases?
