This book has material that will serve for both Adult-Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner exams to be used as needed. It is advised that you take the material at face value and make notes to yourself to enhance further studying. Use this book as a study guide and outline to brush up on topics that are most commonly assessed on the board exams. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certifies graduates of accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs in three categories: Adult, Geriatric, and Family Nurse Practitioner.

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certifies graduates of accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs in three categories: Adult, Geriatric, and Family Nurse Practitioner.
Note that the adult and geriatric categories have now been combined into the designation of adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. The AANP is an independent certification organization accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The AANP exam consists of 150 questions, 15 of which are experimental practice questions that do not count toward your final grade. You have 3 hours to complete the exam. The passing score for the exam is 66%.
