The best baskets always have assists. So do the best books.
This one is a product of love, guidance and teamwork over a span of more than 68 years.
The play started with my parents, Fawn and Marion Heathcote, in Harvey, North Dakota, and with my mom and grandparents in Manchester, Washington.
Credit should go to my first coach, Stener Kvinsland at South Kitsap High, and to my college coach, Jack Friel at Washington State.
Marv Harshman at Washington State was my mentor and one of the great minds in basketball history. He was a part of every win we had at Montana and Michigan State.
Many thanks to all the players who've taken coaching over 45 seasons, especially to Gregory Kelser and Earvin Johnson, who led us to the '79 championship.
