ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Faithe Wempen, MA, CompTIA A+, MOS Master Instructor, has been writing and teaching about computers since 1993, with the release of her first book, Abort, Retry, Fail: 101 MS-DOS Error Messages. Faithe is the author/co-author of more than 150 books about computer hardware and software, including Mike Meyers CompTIA A+ Guide to Managing and Troubleshooting PCs Lab Manual, Fifth Edition, as well as textbooks, magazine articles, and website content. For more than 15 years she has taught A+ certification prep classes at Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), and her free online classes for corporate clients, including Sony and HP, have educated more than a quarter of a million students.
Jane Holcombe, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, CompTIA CTT+, Microsoft MCSE, MCT, and CNA, pioneered in the field of PC support training. She spent 20 years as an independent trainer, consultant, and course content author, creating and presenting courses on PC operating systems taught nationwide. She co-authored a set of networking courses for the consulting staff of a large network vendor. In the early 1990s, she worked with both Novell and Microsoft server operating systems, finally focusing on the Microsoft operating systems and achieving early MCSE certification, recertifying for new versions of Windows. Since 2001 she has been the lead author, in collaboration with her husband, of 10 books and numerous book chapters.

Daniel Lachance, CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MCT, MCSA, MCITP, MCTS, is the owner of Lachance IT Consulting, Inc., based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dan has delivered technical IT training for a wide variety of products for more than 20 years. He has recorded IT support videos related to security and various cloud-computing platforms. Dan has developed custom applications and planned, implemented, troubleshot, and documented various network configurations and conducted network security audits.
