I'm very thankful for the drawings contributed by Shelley Pecha, Melissa Brewer, and Katey Fortun for previous editions. For this edition Melissa Brewer provided very helpful information about her current practice and use of software.

I have been amazed and touched by the generosity of members of the design community who shared time and contributed projects. Traci Lesneski and the staff at MSR Design generously allowed me to review projects and contributed excellent project work, as they have for each edition. Conversations with employees of MSR Design added greatly to my understanding of current practice. For this and previous editions, the staff at Cuningham Group Architecture contributed a range of projects and process work. Jim Smart of Smart Associates graciously contributed his thoughts and work appearing in previous editions.

Conversations with my friend, designer Lynn Barnhouse, were instrumental in helping to develop the first and second editions and continue to inform my work. Previous editions included generous contributions of time and work by Jane Rademacher, Thom Lasley, Thomas Oliphant, Jim Moeller, Janet Lawson, and Harris Birkeland.

I am thrilled to include work by Michelle Morelan, a talented designer and illustrator, whose work has a wonderful, fresh quality. A special thanks to Matthew Saunders, a gifted illustrator and designer for his significant contributions. Don Thomas of BWBR has been a generous contributor to our student experiences over the years and has contributed his wonderful sketch renderings to this edition.

I must acknowledge and thank my current and former University of WisconsinStout colleagues. Courtney Nystuen, a wonderful teacher and architect, contributed in many ways to all editions. Thanks to Ambica Prakash for graciously allowing publication of her illustrations of graphic design concepts. Jack Zellner contributed work included here. Additionally, some excellent student work from Kristine Recker, Anne Olson, and Jennifer Aswood's courses has been included in this edition. Bill Wikrent (and his staff, including Andrew Bottolfson and Katie Hladilek) contributed a great deal of the photography included. Thank you to Professors Erik Evensen and Andrew Williams for providing me with helpful imagery. I'm also thankful for Jennifer Astwood's contributions to my understanding of 3D printing.

I'm thankful to work in a supportive academic environment at UW-Stout with area colleagues Shelley Pecha, Dr. Julie Peterson, and Anne Olson, all of whom have a keen commitment to the profession of interior design. Dave Beck the current director of the School of Art and Design has been supportive and helpful in aiding my understanding of virtual reality.

Thank you to Amy Odum, Kalli Schultea, and Amanda Shettleton at Wiley for help with this edition.
