Soft computing is one of the hot research fields in advanced artificial intelligence, while mathematical modeling and analysis (MMA) plays a key role in soft computing. We aim to promote the research, development, and applications of MMA for soft computing by providing a high-level international forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange research results and share development experiences. The edited book Soft Computing Approach for Mathematical Modeling of Engineering Problems prescribes various mathematical modeling and soft computing techniques in engineering problems. This book will highlight that the models use some basic assumptions and mathematics to find parameters for different engineering problems and use those parameters to calculate the effects of different interferences, such as medical compartment models, weather, cryptoanalysis, image processing, industry revolution 4.0 and etc. This book will walk through the emerging trends in modeling engineering problems as a tool that has been used to study the mechanisms by which natural and physical phenomena defined, to predict the future vision and horizon and to recognize the potentials existing in different branches of engineering. It will help the researchers to appreciate the Soft Computing Approach for Mathematical Modeling of Engineering Problems.

The objective is to bring the mathematical modeling and soft computing in engineering problems into a single volume, which can add to the existing knowledge of undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, academicians, and industry people. This book aims to cover the main aspects of mathematical modeling and soft computing in different branches of engineering problems, and its goal is to persuade engineers and scientists that mathematical modeling can be of use to them. The primary users of this book include researchers, academicians, postgraduate students, and specialists. Many researchers have made significant contributions to the research, education, and the development of soft computing. This book is dedicated to those pioneers and scientific and technical workers in research in this area.

Ali Ahmadian is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of IR 4.0, The National University of Malaysia, Adjunct Lecturer at the Kean University (Wenzhou Campus), China and Visiting Professor at the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria. As a young researcher, he is dedicated to research in applied mathematics. He received his Ph.D. in early of 2014 as the best postgraduate student from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). After his Ph.D. He took a postdoctoral fellowship at same university as part of the numerical analysis research group and at the same time joint to the University of Malaya as an Associate Researcher. He was promoted as a Fellow Researcher on December 2017 in UPM and supervised a number of PhD and MSC students as the main and member of supervisory committee. 8th Rank based on citations to his research works recognized by Google Scholar for the field of Fuzzy Sets and Systems. In general, his primary mathematical focus is the development of computational methods and models for problems arising in computer science, biology, physics, and engineering under fuzzy and fractional calculus (FC); in this context, he has worked on projects related to nano-communication networks, drug delivery systems, acid hydrolysis in palm oil frond, and carbon nanotubes dynamics, nanofluids, viscosity, AI and etc. He could successfully receive 16 national and international research grants (Worth: $ 800,000) and selected as the 1% top reviewer in the fields of mathematics and computer sciences recognized by Publons during 20172020. He is a member of editorial board in Progress in Fractional Differentiation and Applications
