The best kinds of people are the ones that come into your life and make you see the sun when you once saw clouds, the people who believe in you so much that you start to believe in you, too, and the people who love you for being you.

So many people have come together to make the dream of maman and this book a reality for us, and for that we extend our deepest merci beaucoup.
To our families
Our sincerest gratitude goes to our families, especially our parents, for filling our childhood tables with so many wonderful memories and for raising us in homes filled with so much love, laughter, and good food. You are the true inspiration behind maman and the reason for our love of the kitchen. Thank you for always being so supportive and for encouraging our crazy dreams. From helping us pack for our next move across the ocean to being on your hands and knees to sand vintage chairs before opening each new location, we could never have accomplished what we have without your guidance, passion, and support.
To our customers
For allowing maman to be an extension of your home, for making us your daily stop before work and go-to lunch spot, and for gathering your friends and family to celebrate with us. Your continued support, loyalty, kind comments, and sweet enthusiasm inspire us to keep creating, cooking, baking, and brewing. You are the real reason for our success, and we are humbled and honored to be part of your lives.
To our staff
Present, past, and futureyou make our days easier, and each one of you has been an integral part of our success over the past few years. A special thank-you to those who graciously shared and trusted us with your cherished family recipes and memories. We would not be where we are today without you, and we definitely couldnt have taken the time away from the restaurant to write this book, so for that we are eternally grateful.
To Leigh
A heartfelt thank-you to the best literary agent one could wish for. Your knowledge, support, and amazingly detailed recaps have helped us bring this vision to life, and it is because of your unwavering confidence in us and expertise in the industry that you now hold this book in your hands.
To Lauren
For understanding us and this book so perfectly, and whose taste and advice we can always trust. Thank you for your endless patience, for putting up with our poor spelling and grammar, for your enthusiasm, and for all your hard work. Your attention to detail, insight, and gentle nudges have made this book and each recipe so special.
To Andrea
Our appreciation to you is greater than words could ever express. You have been our right hand, our jack-of-all-trades, and our biggest cheerleader. Thank you for making work more fun and a great deal calmer, and for making our lives a little more beautiful with all that you do. You always surpass our expectations with your dedication, creativity, and resourcefulness. We are so lucky to have you in our lives.

Thank you for taking a chance on maman when it was just a concept. We would never be where we are today without you. Thank you for supporting us, encouraging us, and being our biggest champions. You not only helped get maman on the mapand on Oprahs mapbut also believed in us every step of the way, and for that we are incredibly grateful. We are so happy to have had you as part of the maman family, our personal family, and story. You make our jobs and lives easier and we love you so much!
To Linda, Monica, and Kate
Thank you for lending your incredible talents to our book. We could not be happier with how you captured mamans food, drinks, and vibe and helped us make the perfectly imperfect muted mess. You made us and our food look beautiful, and we feel beyond blessed to have collaborated with you all on this book.
To Leatal
Like you always do, you brought an abundance of beauty to our office and kitchen and helped make our long photo-shoot days more enjoyable. Your florals were the perfect finishing touch to every photo, and we love having you and your work part of our book.
To Karen and Candice
My most creative friends! Thank you for sharing your talents and artistry. Karen, you created a font that reminds me of my mamans handwriting and added so much beauty and warmth to our cookbook, not to mention our menus, our windows, and every sign we ever make. Candice, your patterns make everyones morning coffee a little more beautiful and our cups such a sought after fashion accessory! Because of you, I can say I have the prettiest garbage in NYC!
To Brett
Thank you for listening to our dreams over many glasses of wine, for believing in us and our concept, and for all your continued support. You were such a key part of creating maman and turning those dreams into reality, and without your trust and encouragement we would never have hit a home run and wouldnt be where we are today.
To our friends
maman, our lives, and this book would not be possible if not for our dearest friends. You helped us shape this project through years of dinner parties, celebrations, and shared joys. Thank you for all your support and for always enjoying our recipe-testing leftovers.
To Crumpet
And lastly, our little four-legged taste tester, who makes sure there are never any leftovers and that our floors (and counters) are always clean. Thank you for being the most excited member of the family whenever we cook and for always licking the bowl clean, even when we burn things. You are the best big brother, cuddle buddy, and companion.
I cook and bake with my kids all the time. Yes, its messy, and yes, it takes longer, but I want them to have fond memories of our time together in the kitchen. I want them to think of cooking as fun and to associate mealtime with conversation, laughter, and connection. Cooking is my love language, and I hope that by cooking with and for my kids that they feel very loved.
