An afternoon tea party is a very nice way to entertain guests. Here are some suggestions for organizing the party in style.
The Basic Kit
Do you have a tiered cake stand? If you do, then it could be the centerpiece. If you dont have the stand, then you can just display the best crockery you have. Make it special with folded napkins, name place cards, and lace-like doilies. You can save money by buying Chinaware at charity shops. Dont worry if the patterns dont match.
And of course, you will need teacups, a teapot, cake slicers, and cutlery. Dress up your table by laying a nice tablecloth. You can buy floral, striped, or spotted fabric.
You can also prepare name-place cooking and ice them with the name of the guests. Place them in paper bags so the guests can also take home a little gift.
The Arrival Drink
The milk and sugar should be placed on the table. You should also offer many types of teas, such as Chai, Earl Grey, chamomile, peppermint, herbal, and fruit. Iced tea can be perfect if the weather is warm. You can also serve a juice-based mimosa or sloe gin royale.
The Spread
There are no rules about the food. However, any afternoon tea can include cakes, sandwiches, scones, or teacakes. You can also have biscuits and pastries. You can yourself prepare many of them.
Here are some inspiring ideas that will go very well with your afternoon tea. Try preparing them in your home kitchen.
