This book has changed thousands of lives all around the world and its going to make yours better as well. Every single day, people go out of their way to contact me and tell me that this book, Declare War on Yourself, is like drinking out of a fire hydrant, the bible of becoming better, better than every single book Ive ever read on self-improvement, and the only book theyve ever kept on the nightstand to read daily. That they NEVER reach out to authors but felt compelled to because it has made such a huge impact on their life. A week ago, a skeptical investigative journalist reached out to me for a phone call. He said the book was so good that he had to find out if I was the real deal or full of shit and stealing another authors content and ideas. At the end of our conversation, he said hes listened to the book 4 times and each time, he has to open a notebook, write pages of notes, highlight, and then underline them. That, after 35 years of reading books from every self-help author imaginable, hes never seen so much powerful information jam-packed into one book and he doesnt understand why its not on every bookshelf in the world.
Declare War on Yourself is straightforward, honest, and blunt. I tell you the truth even if it hurts your feelings. While most authors only care about turning you into a fan and getting you to like them, follow them, and think theyre great, I only care about teaching you every single thing I know to make your life better. I cut straight to the heart of the problems in your life, reveal why those problems arent going away, and reveal EXACTLY what you need to do to get them under control. I teach you how the wrong mindset is negatively impacting your life, relationships, and results and which changes will improve your thinking, behavior, and habits so things will fall into place for you.
If you can handle some tough love with a little stank on it and be open-minded enough to toss around some new ideas for your life, then this book is for you and will help you. Even if its not one epiphany after another like many readers claim to experience , I guarantee you will take something from it that youll use for the rest of your life. That by itself is worth the small price of this book.

If we did all of the things we were capable of doing we would astound - photo 1

If we did all of the things we were capable of doing, we would astound ourselves. Thomas Edison

GETTING YOUR ACT TOGETHER IS WAR

Only 3% of us have our act together because were not willing to go to war with ourselves to improve and become the person were capable of being. The person were meant to be. The person left behind once the nonsense is destroyed. Were not willing to go to battle and fight for the mentality, behavior, habits, and life we want. Were not willing endure the pain, separation, and loneliness of the path to getting better the path very few take. Were not willing to attack our limiting thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behavior, and habits and destroy them. Were not willing to engage, conquer, and dominate the enemy ourselves.

Declaring war on yourself is anything but fun. Its hell. It sucks. Its painful. Its unforgiving. Youre in a foreign land, the enemy doesnt want you there, and you quickly discover theres no place for hesitation, feelings, complaining, excuses, or a lack of effort. Every minute of every day youre faced with making the right decisions, choosing the right path, and taking the right course of action or you will lose the war and the part of you youre trying to destroy, the enemy, wins.

The enemy does whatever it takes to keep the high ground. To keep you immature, childish, and irresponsible but you will not retreat. You will, not only, hold your ground, but you will push forward and hit the enemy with everything you have until you overwhelm it, break it, and destroy it.

There will be casualties and injuries. You will lose some battles. Your ego, pride, and confidence will get bruised and banged up. You will have days where your head is up your ass and you make horrible decisions. But its ok. It doesnt mean you lost the war. It just means youre learning.

The war with yourself will always be at your doorstep, staring you in the face, taunting you, and daring you to become weak and scared. You have a rendezvous with death the death of your former self.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY

We blame why were not where we want to be in life, thinking the things we should be thinking, doing the things we should be doing, and living the life we should be living on situations, circumstances, and everyone around us - but in reality, our life is 100% the product of our decisions.

98% of everything happening in your life IS within your control and the other 2% of everything that is inevitable, you still have the power to decide how it affects you and how you respond to it. You still have the power to prevent it from breaking you, getting you off track, and distracting you from what you should be doing.

The enemy isnt your parents, your spouse, your kids, your boss, your friends, or your co-workers the enemy is YOU.

The enemy is the person inside that wants to be comfortable and lazy. The enemy is the person inside that wants to avoid pain. The enemy is the person inside that wants to take the easy route. The enemy is the person inside that wants constant attention, approval, and admiration. The enemy is the person inside that wants to continue making bad choices because they feel good. The enemy is the person inside who doesnt want to separate themselves from the people, places, and things that are negative, destructive, and counterproductive.

YOU ARE DECIDING to hold yourself back. YOU created the life you have right now. YOU are the only one to blame for what youre feeling and experiencing. YOU are to blame for how everyone is treating you.

You dont have the power to control the people, situations, and circumstances around you. You only have the power to control yourself. Getting your act together means youre going to war with yourself and destroying the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and habits that are holding you back and keeping you from being the person you want to be.

MY PERSONAL LETTER TO YOU

Getting your act together is very lonely because very few are willing to endure and do what it takes to become the person they want to be and have the life they want. Its an uphill battle - youre not going to see too many friends along the way. Youre going to spend more time with yourself than anyone else. Through it all, you have to trust that, deep down, youre doing whats right and youre going to win. You have to assure yourself that when it gets hard, youre going to keep fighting and keep pushing to win the war within and conquer yourself.

Most people try getting their act together and fail. Some will support you along the way and be happy for you but most wont care. They might even like you less because your fight reminds them of what they arent doing and fighting for. What separates you from everyone who has tried the path youre on and failed is youre not going to quit and youre going to keep taking the punishment and getting back up until you get it right.

Having your act together, naturally and effortlessly, causes you to stand head and shoulders above the 99% of those who dont make it the utmost priority to have their mind and life in the right place.

Most of us go our entire lives following the masses, listening to voices of mediocrity and failure, living fake and empty Social Media Lives, and focusing on everything except what truly matters. We create the appearance of wealth, health, happiness, and love and at the end of the day, were broke, never truly happy, and we never have the inner-peace we believe is found in buying stuff we cant afford and getting likes from people we dont like, dont know, and dont care about.

When you work on conquering YOURSELF instead of working on conquering people and things that are a complete waste of time, you will find a real sense of peace, love, and happiness.

Nothing is more painful than being out-of-control of your mind, emotions, and habits and nothing gives you more inner-peace and happiness than having your mind, emotions, habits, behavior, and life on the right track and in order.

Starting right now, make changing your life and having your act together your highest-priority. Make it your biggest goal. Make it more important than what everyone around you is focused on.

Getting your act together helps you get ahead and create the life most people want but are unwilling to work for.

As an Aircraft Mechanic, making $100,000+ a year, I daydreamed about working for myself, actually getting paid for my efforts, making what I felt I was worth, not having to answer to anyone, and living life on my terms even if it meant being broke for a while.

Id tell myself, Ill get there one day - but Id never do anything about it!

Then, when I decided I was no longer content with mediocrity and realized I could be spending my valuable time doing something much better, important, and productive, thats when my life changed.

Right now, as you read this, I am where I used to only imagine being. I am now the person I used to dream of being. I am now living the life I used to dream of living. I have my act together more than ever before and it only took a decision. A decision to move in my own direction and NEVER look back, never stop, and never give up. A decision to be tough, focused, and stubborn. A decision to, as Grant Cardone says, pay the price today so I can pay any price tomorrow.

Right now, its time to toughen up and make that same decision. Promise yourself youre going to knock off the bullshit, get your act together, stop wasting time, and live the life you know youre capable of living. For me, it all started with a promise to myself, and youre no different.
