Introduction
Tablets have been around for several years now. However, whats kept them from becoming massively popular has been their price tags, lack of easy accessibility to content, and that the devices have difficult-to-use user interfaces or operating systems. Recently, thats all changed. Apple released the original iPad and later the iPad 2, which made tablets easy to use and made a massive amount of content available, but the price of even the most basic iPad 2 continues to be high.
With the release of the Kindle Fire from Amazon, consumers now have easy access to an inexpensive, easy-to-use tablet that is supported by an incredible amount of content in the form of eBooks, digital editions of newspapers and magazines, apps, music, TV shows, movies, audiobooks, games, and more.
With its built-in, seven-inch touch screen display and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, the Kindle Fire tablet also offers easy access to the Internet, allowing users to surf the Web, manage multiple e-mail accounts, and access online social networking sites (like Facebook and Twitter) directly from their tablet.
Beyond all of the apps that come preinstalled on the Amazon Kindle Fire, the functionality of this highly portable, handheld device increases dramatically when you begin adding third-party apps acquired from the Amazon App Store. For example, between the preinstalled and optional third-party apps available for the Kindle Fire, you can access, view, edit, and share Microsoft Office files; view PDF files; edit, view, and share digital photos; manage your schedule; maintain a detailed contacts database; enjoy multimedia content; read eBooks and digital publications; listen to music; keep track of personal or work-related expenses; shop online for virtually any product and save money; and play hundreds of exciting, challenging, and fun games.
